Editorial review from Citysearch 11/22/2013

Don't move here. I lived in the apartments then moved to the townhouse on the property and was there almost ten years. Noisy neighbors were never taken care of, repairs were never completed or never responded to. The SWAT teams suddenly showing up on multiple occasions to random areas of the complex was frightening. We had a yellow jacket problem in our basement and the landlord never called us back about it and we had to take care of it ourselves. The plaster was peeling in the basement and we reported it the day we moved in and it was never fixed. We had a hole in our bathroom for over a year until we moved out - this was due to the maintenance never completing a plumbing job they had started. We left the place perfectly clean and never got our deposit back or a reply as to why they had kept our deposit. I'm so glad to be out of there and do not recommend it to anyone. more

Run away!! 7/6/2011

After living here almost six years, I am so glad to be moving out! We stayed so long mostly because it was good at first. The place has switched landlords within the last few years, and the new landlord (landlady?) is pretty much no where to be found. Ever since the switch, we haven't been living under a lease. We don't even know what the new lease looks like! We just pay what the last lease said to and hope for the best. The maintenance sucks. We had issues with pipes breaking, one really big one right over our toilet. It was fixed (after a couple of unresponsive calls and a number of days), but job was left unfinished. The window blinds are all broken (they were broken before we even moved in), and there is a hole in the wall under the living room window. Also on the front door, the doorknob doesn't lock. There is no temperature controls so in the winter you can freeze before they turn on the heat. And when it snows at all, don't plan on the front or back being shoveled for a week. The parking lot area was supposedly ""fixed"" last year, but it looks like they just took some tar to the cracks. Too bad they couldn't fix the biggest pothole on the right side of the parking lot. OH! And don't even get me started on the ""gate"". It's is, or rather WAS, a card entry gate. But someone kept running into it. It has been broken more times than I can count. I think they just refuse to fix it now. I personally think that someone from another apartment complex wanted to use the parking lot. If only they would actually monitor who comes in. I have seen plenty of people without parking tags in the lot. The apartments seem dangerous, but I actually haven't had any issues. I am not sure about the townhouses(I don't know if that's what they are), but in the actual apartment buildings anyone off the street can walk right in. I wouldn't want to live on the street level floor of any of them. As for the laundry facilities, there is only ONE washer and ONE dryer per building of 7 apartments. And there have been numerous times where people from other buildings help themselves to the one in our building. When I moved in, it cost $1 per load, quarters only. Without warning they started charging $1.25 for it. I didn't even realize it until the machine didn't accept the quarters. There is a storage area in the very bottom on the front side (the key to get into the laundry room is the same for the storage area, but one of the newer residents wasn't even given a key!). The one in my building had only 6 places for 7 apartments. They aren't very big, but they are very useful. I suggest if you use them, get a lock. And always bring a flashlight! You probably should also keep a spare cheap bulb in with your stuff. There have been lots of times when we went down and the bulb was burned out because someone left it on. Most of the other tenants are nice, but some of them tenants are horrible too! Last year we had to call the fire department because the person right across from us left their electric stove on with stuff on it and they burned up their kitchen. When we went to warn the person above the fire before the fire department came, they pretty much said ""so what? go away"". Uhh, SORRY! We are just trying to let you know that you will soon be on fire! As for the neighborhood, it's an ok place to live. There seem to be a lot of foreign people, and the kids have no idea how to stay off the street! So be very careful driving around!! But the only time I hear sirens is when they are going to the nursing home down the street. I've heard of and seen police around a couple of times, but only a handful of times within the last couple years. The only good thing to say is that my rent has only increased once, and now it's $480+electric more
