Skybox is a nice sports bar/grill located in downtown Salt Lake City in the Gateway shopping center. The menu is what you would expect it to be at such a place: burgers, ribs, sandwiches, pizza, and the like, though it does have a few surprises (a rather nice selection of salads and soups, for example). The food is actually pretty good (chile verde burrito might be the best in town), and the atmosphere is fun if you are into sports. There is also a large game room with arcade style games that should entertain kids and adults alike (though the pricing is ridiculous; I think 5 bucks allows you to play a whopping three games of air hockey).\r

The two biggest problems with the skybox are the service and the prices. Servers seem frequently overwhelmed and can sometimes be fairly brusque. Be prepared to figure a lot of stuff out on your own, and don't expect those drinks to get refilled, since you will probably only see your waiter when he/she takes your order, delivers your food, and drops off the check.\r

And now onto the pricing. Let's just say that you might want to let your food digest a bit before you look at the bill, because once you do your gag reflex will probably be induced. For example, that great chile verde burrito I was telling you about is a whopping $12.99. Thirteen bucks for a burrito? If one person goes in, get said burrito, a Dr. Pepper, and their best dessert (a chocolate souffle with vanilla ice cream), that meal will come to about $30 (12.99 + 2.25 + 7.99 + tax + 15% tip). Thirty bucks for a burrito, soft drink, and a dessert? Get over yourself, skybox.\r
