awesome spa! 12/14/2010

Im very surprised at some of the reviews on here! I have been going to Skin Deep and Beyond for over 8 years and i love it! I started going there for the microdermabraisions because they were the cheapest around and Cindy gave me the best results. Also, being a single mom sometimes I had to bring my daughter along in the room with me since she was a toddler and I never felt as if she was unwanted there or uncomfortable. I don't believe any other high-end spas would allow that, even though she was a very well behaved little girl. I have also had facials, body bronzing and buy all my skin produts there. The staff are super knowledgable on what works best for your skin type and your age. I have recommended all my friends and family to go there, its comfortable, inexpensive, and you are sure to get what you deserve, the best. more

My Favorite Place 12/3/2010

I have been going to Skin Deep for 7 years. I have had the laser hair removal, and i must say, it is highly professional, safe, and works great! My pedicures were great too. Everyone's really nice. I am sending everyone I know there. more

Deep Tissue Sports Massage 12/2/2010

Nice Day Spa! 12/2/2010

The Groupon special was a $10 EXPRESS manicure and $15 EXPRESS pedicure. This Spa moved on Nov 26th and no longer offers nail services. Groupon customers are completely satisfied with trading their coupon forfantastic massages. Let the Nail Salons do what they do best. The massages are amazing! more

Sports Massage 12/1/2010

If you need a deep tissue massage, skin deep and beyond has the best people. Just make sure to mention that's what you need and they'll set you up. I go there for mine all the time. more

What a great, friendly spa! 11/30/2010

I am very impressed with the friendly service at Skin Deep & Beyond Day Spa. I have been to many other clinics that are very rude, and push me every single time I am there to buy something! Thank goodness I have found a nice place where customer service is a top priority! My massage was wonderful, too. I have had many microdermabrasions there, and I did not have any pain...it's a scratchy exfoliation to get rid of dead skin..that is the whole point. As for the massage beds being too small...I'm pretty sure any normal sized person can fit on them, I don't see how you could run out of room unless you were excessively overweight. My overall review is that this place is a well-priced, fantastic, luxerious place to come to relax! Who needs to read magazines when you're taking the time to relax anyways? :) more

Skin Deep & Beyond Day Spa 11/25/2010

I was looking forward to a Deep Tissue Massage. But instead of being scheduled with a masseuse experienced in that style, I was given one with little experience, no bedside manner and who managed to poke me with her nails. I was also uncomfortable that no one asked about medical conditions or massage preferences as is the procedure at other salons. With their massage prices at $68 an hour, I expected a little luxury. But there was nothing luxurious about this tiny, dive of a place. The massage table was narrow, covered with a crumpled sheet and had nowhere to rest the arms. They say everything is brand new, but it didn't look like it to me. They say cell phones are not permitted, yet their walls are paper thin and I could hear the sounds of men talking in the street. Granted, I was the first customer on the opening day of their new location, but that doesn't excuse many of the things I experienced there. To apologize, I was offered a complimentary massage from another masseuse, which was certainly much better. But it was not enough to convince me to go back there. more

Quality and Price is a great combination 11/17/2010

My whole family has been going to this Spa for several years. They have always been friendly and inviting. I can't get a better massage or facial anyplace else. I am excited about the new location. I can't wait to go try it. more

This place is wonderful! 10/7/2010

I also came here for the first time and my expericence here was unsurpassed. The place is ambient, very lovely. I had a lot of questions and they were very formal about it. I enjoyed my experience here and had a wonderful time with Cindy. She is a total sweetheart and I absolutely recommend her when you visit. Definitely will come back. more

First time customer 9/26/2010

I came in for a microdermabrasion for the first and it was super painful! I honestly felt like my skin was being cut but I guess that's how it works? Beauty is pain. Staff was incredibly kind, the spa was nice although the waiting area was pretty dark if you want to read a magazine they provided you need to sit right next to the light. Other than that it was pretty good. more

Seriously? 9/19/2010

I had a manicure and pedicure at Skin Deep and Beyond Day Spa that I purchased through Groupon. I couldn't believe that all I got was a push back of my cuticles and then polish which chipped horribly the next day. I got to put my feet in a bath, but that was it - no scrub to remove dead skin or anything else. It was so not cool. I was shocked and a little annoyed that I paid that much for something I could have done myself. more

no customer service! 7/10/2010

Waited 30 mins after the scheduled appointment for the session to begin and waited multiple times for the person to return to the treatment room for lengthly periods of time. The person was answering the phone during session and taking new appointments, and was rushed and hurried during the time they were in the room. Completely lacking of any customer service or sense of "spa" special treatment. more

Laser Treatment 6/21/2010

I visited this spa for a laser treatment and was ell informed of the procedure. The staff was friendly and helpful and really cared about my treatment. The facility was clean and relaxing. more

Don't waste your money - go elsewhere 1/6/2010

I have spent close to $1500 dollars at this spa for what, at best, could be considered an incomplete laser hair removal process. They seem to have a high turnover rate on technicians, which should have been my first clue. However, on at least two (possibly three) separate occasions, I had a technician who was being paid to do a Brazilian and just didn't. One other occasion, she missed entire areas, so what I have is blotchy and needs further assistance. I was planning to come back here and work with them further, until a very close friend I referred told me they refused to work on her. She has a treated seizure disorder which is unaffected by light; however the technician was afraid to assist her, citing that she could lose her license if my friend were to have a seizure (incorrect from what I heard from the licensing board). My friend left embarrassed and feeling like, at best, she needed to go back to a 1960s mentality and lie to people about her disorder. I called a number of other spas locally, including Emerge Day Spa, which is where my business will now be going. They said that they not only weren't "afraid" of this sort of issue, they take precautions for those who do have seizures. What a complete turnaround from the discriminatory attitudes we have run into at Skin Deep & Beyond - a definite "Don't Go" in my book. Pros: Easily accessible Cons: incomplete job, discrimination more

NIGHTMARE on Warmsprings Street 2/14/2009

Wow. What a sham. You go in expecting to have this great day and they fail to deliver on all accounts. Ambience? nope. Prefessionalism? nada. Do I feel better now than before I walked in? OMG no, I feel like I got mugged. All bruised and beat up. Will I refer this spa to anyone I know? Please. I will tell random strangers to stay as far away as they can. You'll get better service and better care going through the McDonalds drive through window at 3 am than you will at this spa. Pros: Parking Cons: Establishments spoiled disrespectful son who works the front desk more

The Best Pedicure Ive ever had 8/8/2008

Last week I had the pleasure of getting a highly pampering pedicure from Jennifer. She was extremely professional and made my experience completely enjoyable. I didnt feel rushed and she even helped me select just the right color. I have had many pedicures and none compare, she knew exactly the right temperature the water should be, the right places to rub my feet and legs. She was gentle and tender with her touch on my feet and I left feeling refreshed and rejuvinated. I was amazed at how speedy and pain free it was, as my feet are pretty sensitive. She made this a wonderful lunch break for me. Ill definately see Jennifer again very soon :) more

Wonderful Deep Tissue Massage 3/7/2008

I have had alot of upper back pain. The massage therapist asked me questions about any injuries and what I wanted out of the massage. She was very professional and it was probably one of the best massages I have had in a long time. For the first time to go to this spa, I feel that I had a great experience and will be returning. more

Who wears protective gloves while massaging feet? If feet gross you out, your'e in the wrong industry. 2/25/2008

I bought my future sister in law a gift certificate for a shower gift and her and I went together for manicures and pedicures. I am in the beauty industry so I have high expectations of proffesionalism etc. The girl that gave me a pedicure talked the ENTIRE time, asking me every question she could think of. I just wanted to relax and enjoy. The worst part is the fact that she wore protective gloves while giving me a pedicure. That is weird and very unpersonable. I will not go back and will not reccommend it to any one who might ask me where to go. Also the paint job chipped within a few days. more

Massages: Good. Facials: Awful. 1/14/2008

I am writing this review now that I've experienced what a true relaxing, beautiful facial is. I went to Skin Deep and Beyond with some girl friends to get a massage a couple years ago and LOVED my massage. A while ago I remembered my good experience and decided to get a facial. This was a HUGE mistake. The girl that did it, LeeAnn I think, was overly chatty and hurried through the whole process in a mechanical way. When I got home my skin was red for days afterwards despite being assured that all products were ok for sensitive skin. I left thinking that facials were just not for me until I was having problems with my skin and decided to try it again. This time I citysearched facials and relied on good responses not just good past personal experience. My new place was so amazing i bought a package of six i was so excited to feel the difference in my skin. My massage here was AMAZING! my facial was a WASTE of money that I wish I would have spent on a massage instead! Pros: massages left me wanting more Cons: facials made me never come back more

She loved it!! 12/3/2007

I bought a gift certificate for my girlfriend and she loved it!!!! She said it was the best spa treatment she's had in years. She said the owner Cindy was there and very professional when she found out it was her first time. Looks like i'll be buying another gift cert. for Christmas. Pros: friendly and professional more
