We loved the flavor options...allowed us to create unique cakes at affordable prices. We got rave reviews of the delicious cake at our wedding...our careless caterer gave all the left over cake to the hired help and my family got NONE! Being busy at the reception made it hard to get a bite of cake so we will have to treat ourselves to another Skiff cake soon. Pros: GOOD cakes! Cons: didn't deliver to LA more

I loved my wedding cake from Skiffs. I'm still getting compliments on how tasty it was. They are definitely the right bakery to go with. The ONLY complaint is that the cake had a few areas where something touched the frosting but I don't even know if that something that happened after the cake was delivered- so it very well might be a guest who just couldn't wait to taste it! Skiffs is special because they ONLY do specialty cakes.They did our wedding on June 27th,2009 and people are still talking about how wonderful our cake was,the red velvet with the creamcheese frosting out of this world.People said it was the best wedding cake they've ever had.Using Skiffs was one of the best choices we made. \r We had a smaller wedding,about 55 people.Skiff did a smaller 3 tier wedding cake.The cake was set up beautifully and Skiff was very professional,had no worries.Thank-you Skiff have already refferred you to friends,you're the best. So so so very RUDE! We are having a smaller wedding (120 people) and plan on also serving homemade desserts and in turn asked for a smaller wedding cake. 2 tiers and with elaborate fondant decoration. I also was planing on ordering a grooms cake that would have been for 120 people. Not a tiny order, but I understand not huge. I was told that they are ""too busy"" and ""too popular"" to ""fill our ovens and racks with dinky fake wedding cakes and sheet cakes."" Also I was told that since we were not ordering at least a ""real wedding cake"" they would not deliver it. Again flatly told ""we're too busy for this"". I decided to use another vendor. This place is great. Consistantly wonderful and impressive. They can make a cake for any occasion. If you are going to eat, make it the best. They're real pros. Pros: Great flavor and beautiful. Cons: A little pricey but worth it. more

Skiff's Cakes made my wedding cake and I would, with no doubt, use them again if I ever need cake for a special event. My friend got married a couple of years ago, and even as a bridesmaid, the only detail I remember is how good her cake was. Very moist, it is almost surprising on the first bite. Anyway, when my husband propose, the first thing I did is call that baker cause I wanted the same cake for my wedding! \r I made two appointments with Steve, the owner of Skiffs cakes. You will always deal with him personally and he is great to work with. Their bakery itself doesn't look impressive at all, but don't worry about the service or quality, they are great! And in return, the prices are very reasonable. I went once to choose the cake flavors, then again a second time to choose the cake style. I couldn't make up my mind for the style of the cake, and he was so patient and helpful. He provided suggestions and input, but it was never intrusive or unwelcomed. And he will listen to what you want.\r In the end, we got the perfect cake style to match our unique wedding, it stayed looking great even outside in 100F weather, he delivered the cake at the exact time we requested, the cake was amazing, and everyone had to tell me how cute and tasteful the cake was. Skiffs did my wedding cake which everybody loved and resulted in several guests using their services for wedding cakes. I have had many cakes for all differenct occassions make by Skiffs and not only are they gorgeous but they taste incredible. Definitely my favorite cakes! more
