Top notch guys and service!! I've never been more impressed with a shops ski knowledge then I was with this place. Was definitely cool to walk into a shop that's near the beach and be transported to the mountain just like that. Very unique store with that old ski chalet feel. What was more amazing was the fact that every ski and snowboard they sell they've personally tried themselves and can tell you exactly how it skis or rides and can pretty much tell you what will work for you. Not only that they're certified boot fitters and they definitely have that down to a science. I made the mistake of buying boots at Sport Chalet and was sized to big and these guys managed to fix my problem.\r \r I would highly recommend this store to anyone looking for Ski, Snowboard, Surf, Skate, or Clothing in the Southbay. Definitely worth the drive. They have just as much fun in the summer and have some of the best prices on surfboards around. The new owners have definitely brought a younger more lively feel to the store, and they're hot too!! Pros: Parking, Location, Customer Service Cons: Little tricky to get into the parking lot (on the divided part of Artesia) but it's worth it!! more

Great products, great service, great people 8/24/2006

I'm not exactly a connoisseur of ski/surf at all, and the people here were so great in helping me find the equipment I needed and even gave me some pointers. I had done a bit of shopping around already, and this place by far was most reasonably priced and helpful...the other stores I had been to had not been nearly as attentive and informative in helping me find what I needed. \r \r They have everything you need at a good price and people who know what they're talking about...check it out!\r \r Pros: informed workers, everything you need Cons: wish i had more money to get more stuff more

The Last Great Ski Shop in California! 7/6/2005

I was blown away to find a ski area type of store in LA, complete with rental department w/ brand new, high end equipment and a seperate repair shop. The employees were freindly not pushy, equipment was better than I had ever seen, and the clothing was unique with a better selection than anyplace I had been in mammoth or Tahoe. I chose a pair of ski's that the manager reommended (based on expert ability-Fisher RX8 and Head Monster IM75's, ...At the endof the season I scored an unbelievable deal on a pair of Technica boots that were custom fitted... You are nuts to go to Sport Chalet and REI...this place feels like a ski resort and the people there are totally stoked on skiing and making sure you are perfectly matched to your equipment. They even gave me a 100% guarantee on my skis and boots.... Pros: High End Gear, Easy Parking, Friendly Employees Cons: Old building, at the beach more
