Skagit Discovery Program

This is not a school that treats behavior or provides an education. There is no learning here. This is a kiddie prison where they lock kids who they cannot control in a padded cell. I’ve witnessed it. I have witnessed the chaos and lack of structure or control. Do NOT let your child attend this school. Your home district CAN teach your child regardless of their behavior. They choose to send your child to Discovery, rather than hiring behavior support staff at your child’s home district. Don’t agree and your child cannot be sent here. There are other options, more

Student. As well. I am 22 now. I dropped out at 16, after years of torment and literal torture. I was put into this "School" in the first grade due to my behavior. Unfortunately my "behavior" was because at my old school I was well in the nice way touched. Well no real surprise here. It happened here as well. Quite a lot. Why haven't they been caught for this? Because myself and as horrible as it is. My fellow classmates that I contacted recently are too scared even as adults to come back and say hey they did this to us. Please. Do not send your children here. more

This is my daughter's 9th year going to skagit discovery. I've seen alot of change in the last 4 year's or more. There on they're fourth administrator since my daughter has been going there they also have been through more staff then I can count. There is only one teacher there that is structured, and that can control the children and even shows a caring of interest in the children, and there families. The kids run out of the school, and the staff half to chase them off campus. I thought this was a behavioral school if my daughter wasn't A Concrete student she definitely wouldn't be going to skagit discovery. But concrete school district don't have a better placement for her. Because the special education director for Concrete School District would rather see kids fall then rise. more

hi all the rumors you hear about discovery is true and not true the stiching part is not true most of the conflict comes from the primary students they come in all tough hitting teachers and running of campus if your student hates discovery and skagit is a good school and stop hating and ik want the schools did's and cause i still go to skagit discovery and i t.a in little kids classroom and the school can lock kids in a quiet room for not being safe and staff does lock kids in a quiet room for 60 second increments until the child has calmed down and being safe and all the students in this school have behavioral problems so to cant control them is only half right and the staff does everything they can to keep students safe as well as teach them. written by: augustine more

Skagit Discovery Center has no patience and cannot handle the children there and I would never send my kid that ever again I want to send my dead dog there and they let the little kids and they let the kids run around the school all day long and if your child is not listen they sent home I've been just got to be since it for 10 years do not send your kid just got to that school more

Here's the low down on this "Behavior education program" if the other reviews aren't enough let it be said read every piece of paper they hand you as a parent, they try and negate liability, they do not put the physical safety of a child above their own "Right Response" ideologies incorporating joint locks into the "educational program" I will say this after this school it wasn't easy to pin me in wrestling in the neighborhood. The principals this school is based on is taking alpha predators of different species and putting them all in a locked building, I went to school everyday not knowing if I was going to get a text book lobbed at me from behind, or literally stabbed getting of the bus, for the tuition your home district pays here you could literally be enrolled in university. Something should be done here as the practices are overlooked if this continues to be an option it will be continue to be chosen. No Child Left Behind forget that here, your child will be forgotten and it will quickly enstill a prison mentality on them, you won't know they are dying inside and this hell hole will be the poison. more
