When I was recently on a business trip to Dallas, I extended my stay to go to this museum and I am sure glad that I did. The cost was $10 per person and I think it was a great deal. The museum is located in the 6th floor of the “Book Depository” building in downtown Dallas. This is the building where they believe that the fatal shots originated. The building is no longer used as a book depository, but the area around the window where the shots were fired and the area where the police later discovered the rifle have been restored to how they looked at the time. The museum had a huge collection of photographs and artifacts from the Kennedy family as well as many from the hours before and after the shooting. The museum is laid out in chronological order – starting with the Kennedy family, then how JFK became president, then through his presidency, then many details on the assassination and its aftermath. They do highlight the conspiracy theories, the Warren Commission, and other investigations that have taken place. They present the stories with a combination of text, photos, artifacts, and videos. As someone who was not yet born at the time of his assassination, it was very interesting for me to see the affect of this event on the United States and even the world. It was also very interesting to see how different things were back then. We went to the museum on a Saturday afternoon and the place was packed! I would highly recommend trying to fit this in on a weekday if you do plan to go. Check out their hours though as they are not open in the evenings and you want to give yourself enough time to get through the large exhibit. There is a store at the end of the museum – I found a great book there that has a lot of the same information as the exhibit – but it is not nearly as dramatic as seeing it in person. Sixth Floor Museum At Dealey Plaza is a very nice museum.It is located in the very building Oswald shot Kennedy and is filled with a lots of information. There is a guided audio tour, numerous film clips, and being able to see the exact window Oswald fired the shot. It is located in downtown. It also a lots of other things to see near by. You should visit it if u are interested in history. more

The museum includes many photographs and different films and information on Kennedy and murder of our former president. The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealy Plaza is a museum that they built in the old Book Depository in Dallas. It is where the gunman stood when JFK was shot in Dealy Plaza. It is a very neat place to visit. Make sure you do the audio tour. It gives more information than you get from just walking through. It is neat to look down on Dealy plaza and imagine what happened that day. They have lots of film clips and information that I had never seen about the assasination. Great place for history buffs! more

The Sixth Floor Museum At Dealey Plaza is a place you have to go visit at least once. It is very informative and well worth the money to visit. It tells you all about President John F. Kennedy and why he visited Dallas that November day in 1963. It goes in to detail the events that surrounded the president’s death and the conspiracies that went with it. There is also an audio cassette tour you can take. I highly recommend this. more

What else is there for guests to do in Dallas but to go to the assination site of President Kennedy and visit the Sixth Floor Museum. This is a fun museum, and although seeing it so many times won't make it fun, taking out of town guests there is a must. This is a well organized and well presented museum and takes you back to that day in a very vivid manner. Each person I've taken there has always enjoyed it very much and always remember that part of their trip to Dallas. The first few times I went, it was very interesting and always something new to learn each time. more

Guests always want to go see the Sixth Floor Museum, it's one of those things that you end up seeing time and time again. Luckily, then, it's very well done. It has some background on the life of JFK and then details his assassination second by second. It's easy to keep an academic distance from it until you are actually looking at the spot where Oswald crouched in his sniper nest. Being so close to world-shaking events is a little chilling. For us jaded Texans, the floor above the JFK exhibit rotates on a regular basis. Even if you're going to the museum for the eighth time with your second cousin Billy Bob from Nebraska, there will be something fresh just for you. I found myself wishing that there was even more information on who JFK was as a person, including his darker personal life. As it stands the museum is very well done and you'll leave satisfied. more

While it would be nice if the admission to this museum was less, it is still a good value. It is on the sixth floor (as the name implies) of the infamous Texas Book Repository from where (depending on what you believe) Lee Harvey Oswald shot President Kennedy. The museum chronciles everything from Kennedys arrival in Dallas to the shooting itself and the response. It includes many interactive elements allowing visitors to view original news broadcasts. They have recreated the scene where the window is. If you look out it you can see an 'X' on the pavement which is where the President was shot. more

Anybody interested in history will love this place. It's always an interesting feeling to stand in a spot where so much of American history was changed. The museum details Kennedy's life with tons of details and photographs. They also have a very touching section where people can write their memories of JFK. Although I was a bit young, I liked reading the thoughts of so many people who had lived during his presidency. more

You have to visit this museum to witness a piece of the history of Dallas. See the window through which the sniper aimed his rifle at JFK. See all the newspaper clippings, investigations, and artifacts. See the chaos that ensued after the shooting and make your own conclusions about Oswald's guilt. more

You might be prepared to take a whole day to tour the museum as it provides so much information. Outside of the museum there are many restaurants and bars you will enjoy. more

This place is a very creative and cool place to take your kids to.
