White knuckles and Mega-thrills. 8/8/2002

If you're like me and are after the thrills, this is the place to go! Not a tame, mild environment for kiddies like some of the other amusement parks but an all out hold on to your hats thrilling experience. All I can say is, if you're after visuals and scenery, go to Disneyland or Universal but if you're after the breathtaking thrillsof roller coasters, twisting and turning, right side up or upside down, go to Magic Mountain. Pros: Thrilling rides, Many rides, Most Roller Coasters Cons: Food too expensive, Lines mostly too long, Weekends Crowded more

Not for those with health issues 7/26/2002

Amusement Parks have always been attractive to young people. Unfortunantly they have the most to loose should they get injured. Young athletes getting bounced around on a ride take a risk of injury to their muscles and joints, not to mention the possible damge to the brains. Doctors have been advising people against these rides for years but to no avail. So ride the rides at your own risks! There is a nice grassy spot on the outside of the park, in the parking lot. Take your RV so that you have a place to go and rejuvenate before heading back into the park. more

Mega Mountain 7/25/2002

Referred to as Mega Mountain in the movie Encino Man, Magic has the quality and quantity of roller coasters to rival the best parks in the US. Too bad the new ride has been closed for repairs. Their fall/spring hours are also a bit erratic (they might be open on weekends only at certain times of year). Be sure to call ahead before driving out in spring/fall. Yes, it's pricy but so is any good theme park. Pros: Great coasters Cons: Long lines more

Thrill Seekers Unite! 7/16/2002

If you want big, scary rides, this is your place! I would not recommend this park for people with small children at all. The lines get really, really long during the summer and it can get to be a scorcher. If you cannot take the heat or wait, you will not have fun. This is definitely a park not for the faint of heart! Come with the expectation of getting on huge rides, waiting in long lines, and definitely bring some comfortable shoes for all those hills you have to walk up! Pros: Thrilling Rides, Worth Price of Entry Cons: Very Long Lines, Very Hot, Not For Small Kids more

Good times, but long lines 7/3/2002

You gotta get here early, or on a weekday when the place won't be completely overrun. Even then, you might have to wait almost an hour for one of the premium attractions. Rides that were worth the wait: Goliath and the Riddler. I thought the Superman ride--the one that zooms out forward and then jets straight up into the air--was overrated. more

Prices of these theme parks are getting ridiculous. MM has managed to come up with a new ride almost every year, which is cool. Now if only they could curb the Valencia gang problem they have. Every time I've gone, there've been gang fights. I worry for my saftey! more

Magic Mountain is a great place for having fun and riding big roller coasters. But, there is not much to do for the little tikes. I love their rides Batman, Viper and the classic "collossus". But if you have little kids go to Disneyland. Pros: great roller coasters Cons: not much for small ki more

This is a fun park, but it's expensive to get in with out a coupon. The summer is the worst time to go. I love rollercoasters, but the lines suck. Try a week day. Cons: long lines more

Rollercoaster Galore.. 5/30/2002

If you like rollercoasters, this is the place for you. Fun but extremely crowded on weekends. I suggest going during the mid-week. Rides worth going on: Colossus, Viper, Batman, Goliath, Flashback, roaring rapids, log jammer, Deja Vu, and X. Six Flags Magic Mountain is definatley not oriented for kids! more

Magic mountain rocks! 5/22/2002

MAGIC MOUNTAINT TOTALLY KICKS BOOTY!!! i HAVENT BEEN THERE IN A YEAR SO I COULDNT COMMENT ON X OR DEJA Vu. But all there rides rule! When you go there always ride revolution first! And if you want to really get some bang for your buck go during a weekday in the winter!! You can ride each ride like 12 times and if you saty near closing. You can ride the same rides over and over again without even getting off (aslong as theres nobody in line) and most of the time there isnt...It's a great place to see chicks...Mostly youth oriented...Like teens-30's...Keep the kids and seniors at disney! I even worked for this place and even though i got paid in peanuts it was the funnest job ive ever had! I cant say 1 bad thing about this amusement park! It absolutely rocks!!! Pros: Fast rides Cons: Long lined weekend more

This place has hands down the greatest rides in So Cal. However, a lot of people know that--which means long lines at peak hours... so if you dont want to wait upwards of 3 hours for an amazing ride, go on a tuesday or something for best value. Otherwise you'll have time for 2 rides and lunch(best to bring lunch)....Oh yeah *wonderful* funnel cake!!! Fun for adults, too! 5/19/2002

I hadn't been to an amusement park in more than 10 years when work surprised us with a full day, "offsite meeting" at Six Flags. I felt like I was 9 years old running from roller coaster to roller coaster. Dining options could be a little better though--just because I'm at an amusement park doesn't mean I don't want a healthy lunch. more
