Nice on Weekdays, But CLub Night are Great on Weekends 4/3/2007

A new place and we already love it. The first time we were there the service was not special, but the food is exellent. However since then, we have been going there almost every weekend and loving it. You find guys and girls of all ages with something for everyone. My girl friends and I have been to many sport bars & clubs around town, but they all had some problems to deal with. So regardless of the "Below Average" review someone gave them -- to be fair, we have been enjoying ourselves there evey evening we're there, specifically during club nights (Thu, Fri, Sat). The staff are awesomely friendly and fun :o) We simply like to relax with friends and watch the games or just eat very pleasing food, but we love to party on the weekends. The verdict is: We highly recommend this place - Jenna, Sara, Lisa, Sam, Katie - Bloomfield Pros: Ambience, good looking people, great music, lots of parking Cons: Still not well known to many more

Poor Management 11/26/2006

I was glad to see a new bar in the area and have been there twice since they opened. The interior is nice, the parking is good and they have mega touch at the bar. But I have to say the management is lacking in personal skills. I had a tab and left my credit card there. When I called a couple days later I was told I would have to speak to the day manager. I waited on hold for a while and was suprised to hear that the manager was too busy to talk to me as he was preping the staff. This is interesting as both times I have been to the bar it has not been busy at all. Well needless to say that is not only rude but unacceptable. I was on may way out of town was not leaving w/o my credit card. So I went up the bar and (it was not busy by any means) and asked to speak to the day manager. The waitresses were all trying to be helpful but they couldn't find the manager. So I waited about 15 minutes and when one of the waitresses finally found him he blew her off! I waited a few more minutes and finally a waitress came out of the kitchen with my card. She was nice and I hope she finds better job. I'll probably give the place another chance just because it's close. But if the managers are rude to either me, my friends or their own staff that will be the last time. Hopefully they will sort out the bad employees. Pros: Location and good selection of drinks and food Cons: Manager (s ?) are rude and unhelpful more

Sips Bar and Grill 11/23/2006

So I was there on one of the biggest bar nights of the year, and lets just say i was disappointed. I mean the inside looks grat and i would Love to go back and hang out there and go to the bar, but the waitress that my party had was the worst. There was no one in there when we got there, the bar was dead, but it took her a 20min to come over and see if we wanted more drinks. We left and lets just say Im sure she was not very happy at the tip that we left her. I would love to go back but if i get the same treatment that I got that night Im sure that there will be a new bar or something in there in no time at all. Pros: very modern Cons: service was the worst more

A big place with something for everyone 11/19/2006

I've seen this building go through several gyrations through the years. It has been a club, a sports bar, and now a bar and grill. The official grand opening has not yet happened so I know my review is still happening when the kinks are being worked out. Overall my feeling on this new place is positive. First of all the menu has a lot to offer. There are NY style pizzas, burgers, and finger food like you might expect from a bar and grill. In addition they have some great steak offerings and some great looking sandwiches and other dishes. The entr'ees come out promptly and have a touch of fancy dressing to them that tell me some care was put into creating my meal. This little touch differentiates Sips from other big name franchise restaurants that have mostly all the same food. Next is the layout of the first floor. It might change on weekends when Sips may be more of a club atmosphere after 9 pm (I can't comment on this yet) but one thing that seems to be "wrong" is the orientation of the tables to the many, many TV's this bar and grill has. The tables face one way and the TV's face another. Therefore if you want to watch TV you are not facing any of the people at your table. Easy enough to fix. Again, this is pre-grand opening times at the time of this review. The rest of the first floor offers a nice open floor plan layout. It feels spacious yet segregated. The four pool tables are off in their own area, yet you can catch an ongoing game from your seat in the eating area. The dance floor blends in with the tables in the eating area. I wonder how this will work on weekends. The game room area is the most separated area of the building, off by the rest rooms in a corner. Not necessarily a bad thing, but the area is small. Pinball game would be cool. I hope to have a further review later after the Grand Opening this weekend. So far the new Sips looks good, I give it a thumbs up. Pros: Great service, plenty of parking, easy to get to from I-696 & Orchard Lake, friendly staff, something for everyone Cons: Menu might be overpriced slightly but pay the premium for the speed of service more
