Simply Cakes Etc Bakery

HORRIBLE PLACE WITH HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Today my fiancé and I had an appointment for cake tasting for our wedding at 10:30 am, we left our home in Orange County at 8:45 am because I hate to be late anywhere I go; we thought actually that we would get early enough to grab a bite to eat but we got stuck twice in the fwy because of two accidents but still we got off the fwy with 10 minutes before our appointment and we were on the street of the bakery but the street was CLOSED so we started to follow the detour and it was kind of all over the place . Exactly at 10:30 am I realized that we were going to be maybe 10 minutes late so I called the shop and this GREG or CRAIG the owner answer, I said excuse me I have an appointment with you guys at 10:30 am and before I said anything he said ""yes and is past 10:30 so you are late "" I look at my phone and the time was exactly 10:30 which is by satellite so is correct so I told him ""no, is 10:30 and we are a couple of miles away but the street is closed "" again he interrupted me and said "" can you see the detour signs ?"" So I patiently explained to him that that's exactly what we were following and I was just letting him know that we were going to be 10 minutes late but then he said "" you are going to be 30 minutes late !"" And he proceed argue with me !!! He didn't care to know anything and just continue to be rude. Since he is a vendor from the Mission inn I didn't wanted to just turned around and go home, so we went anyway ; then we had to deal with another horrible person This woman I guess Jennifer ? She was rude as well and when I asked for the owner she brought that guy even after I told her I wanted to talk to the other owner . When the guy came to us instead of bringing the cakes to taste, he came to tell me "" we'll since you are mad already I am not going to give you the tasting "" the. I told him , how can you be so rude? We are customers of the mission inn and you are one of they preferred vendors, we are 12 minutes late ! And he said , not on my time , I don't go by your time on the phone I go by my time on my wall clock! He went on being Nasty at us! I explained we are coming from Orange County and before I even said to you that we were going to be late you were already being mean and rude ! What about if I called to say I got in an accident ? And he said I DON'T CARE ! At that point we walked out in disbelieve of how can he run a business with that attitude and represent such a beautiful wedding venue if he is a horrible person to deal with! I read other reviews on yellow pages and yelp and he appears to have done similar thing to other customers \r more

This place has the absolute worst customer service I have EVER experienced as well as horrible construction of their cakes. I ordered a cake for my father's 70th birthday from them and the top and bottom layer of the cake separated from each other. I had ordered a gardening themed cake with a figurine of a little gardener on top. My event was on Sunday but because the bakery is closed on Sunday I had to pick it up on Saturday (which I had made clear to the girl who was helping me). When I called the bakery and told them that the top and bottom of the cake separated the co-owner of the bakery (Gregg) told me that if they would have known that the event was on Sunday they would have never put the figurine on the cake but rather given it to me to put on the cake right before the event. Then Gregg told me he would check with the girl helping me to see if they did know that the event was Sunday. I called back the next day and spoke to Gregg again who told me that yes they did know the event was on Sunday but they are not going to do anything for me and that rather we should just part ways from this point forward. As a business owner myself I would never tell a customer that we should part ways... that is just bad business. It is clear that they made a mistake in the construction of the cake but rather than owning up to the mistake they just made things worse. I would NOT recommend simply cakes to ANYONE. The way I was treated was so horrible. On top of the horrible treatment of their customers, the cakes are overpriced. This particular cake cost me $215 and literally fell apart. It is such a shame because it was a pretty cake. Too bad the owners are such JERKS!!! more

I was very excited about picking out a cake for my sisters baby shower when I walked through the doors of this bakery. However, the service was lacking, the lady taking my order was unable to focus on my order but I persisted because I wanted a unique cake for the shower and they had beautiful options. My second complaint was that she incorrectly charged my credit card account. My last and final complaint was that there was a finger nail in the cake. Does this meet county health codes? I wonder what else they put in their cakes. Don't waste your time or money! Pros: Great cake selections Cons: Unhealthy and poor service more

I had a wonderful experience and saw cakes I had never witnessed in my life. They were very extraordinary. I will go there again for all my bakery needs. more
