Simplistic Bride

I've just begun the search for a wedding gown and I was very intimidated by some of the larger stores in Wichita. I don't want to have to be overbearing to get some service. I tried a couple of Wichita stores and was very disappointed not only with the lack of selection in larger sizes, but also with the lack of service. Diane and her staff provided absolutely the most courteous service I have ever received. I made it clear that my wedding is over a year away so I was not looking to purchase on this trip. I just wanted to get an idea of the style of gown I liked. They spent 2 hours treating me like royalty, helping me pick out dresses to try on as long as I wanted, and even helping me take pictures so I could evaluate them later! I cannot say enough great things about this store and the employees. They had more of a selection in my size than any of the other stores I had tried and most places in Wichita will not allow you to take pictures in the dress until you buy it. Diane kept a list of the styles I liked so I can come back and try them on again without having to try to remember which was which. Having been to other stores where I left feeling chubby, ugly, frustrated and ignored it was a completely different experience at Simplistic Bride. I walked out feeling pretty, valued as a potential customer and like I actually have some great options for my wedding. I'm surprised at some of the other reviews. I suppose if you're overly concerned with having a certain designer, this may not be the place for you. But if you are looking for a great selection of absolutely GORGEOUS gowns and fantastic customer service from individuals who truly seem to care about your big day (not just whether or not it means a paycheck for them) then this is definitely the place to go. When we started out on ""the"" dress hunt, we started here because it was closest to our home. The first lady that helped said just pull out whatever you want and we can get to know your taste by what you pick. Well that statement was very true. My daughter picked out several and soon a dress was brought over and while it was the least expensive dress there, she was right, it was perfect. My daughter loved it. They were very good to work with and answered every question the new bride and mom had. We did shop around before puchasing the dress, just to make sure that we had seen it all. We were treated very rudely by a couple of big name Bridal shops in Wichita. If we were not there to spend thousands, they did not want any of our business. I went into this store not knowing anything about the style of dress I wanted, and the lady helping me (Carole I think) was very knowledgable and devoted the whole two hours I was in the store to my mother and I. She was very friendly, and helped me find the style of dress I like. The store had some beautiful dresses, however I am very picky and actually ended up finding my dress at another place, but because of the customer service and the great experience I had here, I plan to get my bridesemaids dresses here, as they also have a large selection as well. Pretty limited selection and kindof common looking dresses. They really didn't have anything like the things I saw in the magazines...nothing unusual. They carried only one designer I even saw in a magazine and those dresses by A Angelo can be purchased on line from just about anyone including Penneys Outlet Stores, so kinda ordinary. They didn't carry Maggie Sottero or Casablanca or Jasmine or any of the affordable lines that are widely advertised. I did find a store in Wichita that carried almost everything I was looking for so rest assured you can get what you want, just maybe not at Simplistic. They were nice enough but weren't very helpful after a few minutes like they became bored with me. I have known the owner for about 2 years. I met her when my friend was shopping for her wedding dress. She is absolutely wonderful, I love her new shop and all of the staff there is also wonderful, it was a very exciting edition to Derby. I felt comfortable going in every day just to look and they were always very helpful, they had the dress that I wanted that I found in a top Bridal magazine. Very well priced and, I was able to do all of my shopping there. I got my dress, all of my bridesmaids dresses, the flower girl dress, all the tuxes, and even my cake topper. There is a wonderful selection and if you just want a relaxing atmosphere to plan your wedding I would suggest Simplistic Bride. Pros: Good parking, Friendly Service more

Went in, looked around, tried on a couple dresses but they didn't have anything exciting. Just the same stuff that I had seen almost everywhere else. I then felt I had to go to Kansas City. I went to KC and found a dress, however, after I bought it I found it in Wichita, however, not at this store. I paid too much for it I found out when I saw the gown again in Wichita. Do your homework and don't make my mistake. I live here and now I have to go up to KC for fittings and to pick up my dress, probably two or three trips that I wish I didn't have to make. Getting everything else here in Wichita at a store where my aunt got her dress about 12 years ago. Wish I would have looked around more, could have saved myself a little money and hassle. Good luck. Pleasant enough place... but the gown I wanted was by Maggie Sottero and they didn't have it. They said they could get it but when I looked at the website again that evening when I got home, they were not listed as an authorized retailer. I called the 1-800 number for Maggie Sottero, got it out of Brides magazine, and they told me to only buy from an authorized Maggie Sottero dealer and gave me the name of a store in Wichita (there are two) where I found my dress and a lot of other stuff. This store was over on west 21st street and I recommend it. Pros: Pretty new store Cons: Little selection and not as helpful as they could have been more

I have searched all over Wichita and the area, even went to Kansas City. This store doesn't have a very big selection, seemed new and the sales clerk wasn't able to answer a lot of my questions. I didn't feel comfortable ordering there and it was hard to find, being so far south of town. Also offered to order a dress I had seen at another store but they didn't have the dress at their store to try on. I didn't think this sounded right. I found a dress somewhere else that I am thrilled with. Pros: Good parking Cons: Hard to find, not much to pick from more
