My father went to see Dr. Silverberg because he was having severe back pain and couldn't use his left leg. He went for the MRI last Monday (10/20/08), and never heard back with the results until that Friday (10/24/08). In my opinion if you are having extreme pain and back problems preventing yo to WALK, it is necessary and urgent that the doctor respond with the results. After calling multiple times to the MRI center and the doctors office, THE SECRETARY finally told him that he needs to come in so the doctor can tell him whats going on with his back. Then they tried to schedule him in for an appointment the following FRIDAY!!! He would have to wait a whole week to know why his back hurt! They ended up calling in a Motrin prescription for him and giving him an appointment for the following Tuesday. On 10/25/08 I called to check up on him and see how he was feeling and he said that it was worse than before and at this point he couldn't even move. I ended up having to call 911 in order for him to be comfortable. When we got to the emergency room, the physicians there set him up with morphine to ease the pain and tried calling Dr Silverberg multiple times, for him to not return any of the emergency room calls. The ER doctors ended up discharging him and sending him home with Percocets and muscle relaxers, as opposed to the Motrin Dr Silverberg perscribed. He is now doing better, and allowing me to go with him to the Tuesday appointment he has with Dr. Silverberg to give him a piece of my mind... IN PERSON!
