Signal View Apartments Condos

DO NOT RENT HERE! We had mold, roaches, snakes and the property manager didn't care! Roaches crawl everywhere on this property. Roaches were even in the mailboxes and by the pool! The staff is VERY UNPROFESSIONAL! A lot of college kids rent there because it's conveniently located to the college and the rent is reasonable, but they take advantage of college students. They lost my rent check on more than one occasion. The maintenance staff is ridiculously unreliable and untimely! BEWARE!!! PLEASE!!! more

I am currently in my second and last year at Signal View. While the location is good, the apartments are decent-looking, and the rent is reasonable, living here comes with a lot of inconveniences. My roommate and I have lived in the constant presence of cockroaches since moving in, despite the fact that we keep our apartment clean. The office staff is 9 times out of 10 completely unhelpful and even unknowledgeable about the complex as a whole. Don't bother asking them for help if you're have a problem with your mailbox because they ""don't deal with USPS."" And if you have a problem that requires the maintenance staff, you better hope it has the most elementary level fix, because I'm pretty sure the only requirement to be one of the Signal View maintenance people is to know how to unclog a sink and chain a light bulb. Our washing machine had a leak inside of it, and we called maintenance only to have someone come out, look at the leak for two minutes, say he had no idea what it might be, and leave. The water is cut off every time it gets cold outside, and the pressure is not turned back on in full for at least two-three days. Enjoy taking your showers in a trickle of water and having to spend 20 minutes filling your toilet up from your shower faucet with a cup every time you have to flush it. What's worse is that calling the main office to express your discontent does absolutely nothing, as the office workers don't seem to care that we don't have water or that we keep having to kill cockroaches at least once a day. \r \r Overall, living here is more frustrating than it's worth, and I wouldn't reccomend it due to the total incompetency of the people who run the place. more

My roommate and I lived here for a full year and that was about all we could handle. We were embarrassed to bring friends over due to the fact that we never knew when we would see one of our little friends scurry across the wall or the rest of their clan sitting in the kitchen while the lights were off. They came and sprayed multiple times but it didn't help. We ended up making a game out of it by seeing who could kill the most roaches. They would get in the dishwasher, cabinets, drawers, bathrooms, bedrooms, and living room. We weren't safe from them anywhere. On top of the roaches, our electricity bill was ridiculous because our door and the door jam didn't even touch. You could practically see outside between the door and the jam. They maintenance tried to come and fix it but they just ended up making it worse and the door wouldn't even shut. Now that we've moved out, they took our deposit and they're making us pay $100 to pay for hanging pictures and to replace the drip pans that were already ruined when we got there.... The rents pretty cheap...but you get what you pay for. more

I have lived at Signal View for an unfortunate 6 years....Beverly and Pat...the so called Management team at Signal View are old hags that resemble the spawn of satan....they are horrible people. I unfortunately am an owner and they still treat me like sh*t...I basically pay their pay checks with my associate fees!! I wouldn't recommend living here...it is a hell hole..and If I wasn't a freaking owner I would have been outta here a long time ago.....BEWARE OF THE OLD HAGS IN THE OFFICE!!! The place is turning ghetto..and there is a lot of crime...I had my car broken into 2 times in one week and the management didn't do a thing...they didn't even care. This place really sucks..beware...seriously. more

I owned a condo at Signal View and was very unhappy with the staff and grounds. The staff was very rude from the office lady named Pat to the very rude repair men. The office did not give me the neccessary information on any matters then blamed and fined me for not ""following the rules"". If you like to pay to have people be extremely rude to you and be fined then live at Signal View. more

I lived at Signal View for a year and just recently moved out. I loved the location and all my nrighbors! The grounds upkeep was nice too, I loved seeing all the new flowers being put in every two weeks or so. Pros: the location Cons: bugs, leasing staff more

I have lived here for over a year and will gladly renew my lease. The maintenance may not fix the problem the first time, but they come back until it is fixed right. The Maintenance people are friendly and try to please you. I am an older tenant, my 2 grandchildren are with me on the week-ends and play in a safe and cheerful environment. There are several older tenants and owners but there are also several family tenants. The complex is a mix of old and young. There are those who cause trouble as there would be in any community but overall I find the people here to be friendly. The grounds are beautiful even if the apartments are old. The price range is a good deal for what you get. It is not a perfect place to live, but it is a nice place to live. I pay my rent on time so I have little involvment with the office staff. All in all Signal View is a nice place to live. Pros: Good maintenance, family oriented Cons: Older apartments more

First, you should know that the majority of the apartments are pretty old. My one-bedroom was buit in 1975, so it's not a fabulous, sparkling brand-new space, but it's a good deal. I looked all over Chattanooga when I moved here, and there's nothing in this price range that's well-maintained in a decent, safe complex. I pay $525 a month for a 700-sq. foot 1 bedroom. It has new appliances and new carpet. Pros: Good location, good maintenance Cons: Older apartments, older tenants more

- Not told would have to move out of apartment until a month before lease ran out because wanting to sell empty. Pros: Some apartments are really nice for the price. Cons: Beverly (Management) perfers to close her eyes and pretend everything is just dandy. more

I have never seen so many water issues with a property. In fact, between water breaks and leaking ceilings I have never lived anywhere with these issues. Understanding it is an old property it is ridiculous. In the maintenance department they finally got in someone good, but he is gone now. The accounting person is just hateful. She snags attitude and acts if she doesn't want to help. The receptionist is nice but she is so forgetful. I had to call several times before the new Property Manager ever got the message and called back. Things have just gone down hill and I will not renew my lease this time and I have been there for awhile. Pros: Pool area is nicely located - kept ok Cons: No hookups for washer / dryer, unfriendly staff, maintenance is horrible - not family oriented (kid friendly) more
