Best Crab Legs in Town 2/16/2009

I've been eating at Sibley Gardens for over two decades now, and find them to be consistent and reliable. The food is always great, and I don't think I've ever had a problem with the service. I've gone for dates, for business dinners, and for a night out with the wife (not all at the same time). I can't think of a single time we didn't enjoy our dinner. Oddly enough, this Downriver location, across from an abandoned steel foundry, is home to the best King Crab legs I've eaten. It's a very generous portion, and they are always fresh. One of my favorite restaurants Downriver, and a favorite restaurant for a special occasion. Pros: Great crab legs Cons: Location - between RR tracks and an abandoned foundry. Welcome to the Rust Belt. more

Absolutely The Best 11/6/2007

I am surprised to read all the negative comments! I absolutely love Sibley Gardens! I have been going there for over 20 years and the food is still as good as it was the first time I dined there. Sure I have had some issues with the waitstaff, but who hasn't had problems with waitstaff at other fine dining restaurants, all in all I would return again and again. I will also say this, those who have had problems should have tracked down either the brother or sister who are in charge of running Sibley Gardens (one of them is usually always there) as I am sure they would have taken care of your problem immediately. I still say Sibley Gardens is the BEST FINE DINING restaurant in the whole Downriver Area! And I am heading there for lunch today......................can't wait!! Pros: Great Steaks, the BEST Chicken Piccante Anywhere! Good Value, just great food all around! Cons: Only one..................a couple of the waitstaff! more

Going Downhill 2/8/2007

This used to be one of the best restaurants in the area, and I always though of it as a special place. However, I don't think it's better than any average chain restaurant now. The bread was stale, the dipping sauce didn't taste good, the fish had obviously been reheated, and my ravioli was so smothered in sauce that it was a struggle to actually find the ravioli. Plus, service was extremely slow, and this was a weeknight when they weren't even busy. We were there for an hour before our entrees arrived and our waitress only came out to take our orders and give us salad. I had to flag her down for a water refill. Pros: nice ambience, caesar salad is good Cons: slow service, mediocre food more

great food overall 11/25/2006

I have been going to Sibley Gardens for many years, and I have never had a bad meal. My steak, not stake, is always perfect. What ever I order there is always good. Also I would like to point out that considering the price of Capital Grill, or Shulas, Sibley Gardens is a great value. more

Going Down the tubes 9/9/2004

This all happened at one expensive dinner for four on 9/9/2004. Ravioli was FROZEN not just cold , Petite Filet Mignon that was ordered to replace Ravioli was overcooked; Prime Rib endcut was barely warm & very greasy. Baked potato was almost warm, butter barely melted: Creme Bruille served cool and runny: Soup was good. Manager never came by once with an apology. To bad for a place that relies on it's reputation and word of mouth Pros: Close, ample lit Parking, decent Italian food Cons: , Kitchen needs help, Expensive more

Not worth the price 1/14/2004

Yea the place looks nice ane the people are friendly but once you order you wait, and you wait. If you are going there for a stake good luck! I had to send mine back twice becasue they don't know what color pink is. And when I went there was a fly bothering us all night. For five people the price was just under $200 including tip. I really do not think it was worth it. I highly recomend not going to this restaurant ever. Pros: Calamari, Parking, Friendly Cons: EXPENSIVE, Slow, Bad Value more

Mmmmmm.... 8/22/2002

Roasted Italian sausage with peppers, ravioli, and a superb wine list. more

Great onion rings 7/25/2002

I've always enjoyed eating at Sibley's. It's the only place I've ordered onion rings in 20 years. They have excellent streaks and prime rib. Others say that other items on the menu are also good but I've never had the oportunity to test them. more
