If it weren't for the large portions, this restaurant would just be ok. Ribs and chicken were good. I had to try the fried twinkies. I could have lived w/o it. more

The food was ok however the reason to avoid this restaurant is price. The menu has quite a bit of price obfuscation with different prices based upon if you are a member or not. Extra substitution prices such as charging extra for a salad or a potato instead of french fries. And not listing the prices of some drinks. The kicker was when I ordered a bbq dinner that came with 2 meats and asked if rather than choosing 2 different ones if I could have 2 servings of my favourite. The waiter told me it would be fine and I didnt think anything about it. The bill came and I was charged for 2 meals. Shorty Smalls is dishonest and should be avoided. Its midrange dining at a premium and dishonest prices. more

The food was pretty good, I went with a 20 person party and we reserved a room and they " had a mix up" we ended up with free appitizers and dessert. There wasn't anyone bartending so It was hard to get a drink. I didn't pay so I was happy more

The best items so far are the brisket sandwich, pulled pork, ribs and green beans. Plus: the receipt/ survey has a 2.00 off coupon for next visit! Helps on the total. more

Food is alright. Prices are high I understand that a remedy for this is to sign up for the "Owner's Club" membership. This gives you a 50% discount on most items in exchange for a monthly fee. I don't know of any other restaurant which operates this way. Still, if you are planning on becoming a regular customer, membership might make sense. Anyway, see the managment for details. Good mozzerella sticks, that's really all they are only about twice normal size. Chicken fingers come with white gravy (which I always think is good wherever I go, but, then again, I'm a sucker for it). There is a house brand BBQ sauce ("Arkansas style", if you know/care about that sort of thing. I don't). I bought a bottle to take with me, guessing, correctly, that it would be good. I didn't ask if they would subsitue the BBQ sauce for the gravy. I hope they would have because I believe that the customer is always right, and that substitutions should always be allowed, especially with something so trival as dipping sauces. Might be a fun experiment to try.I recall a good beer selection (for Oklahoma) but, I say there are only two reasons why one should go here: (1) As a large group not too concerned with price (membership(s) a plus, obviously, and dining rooms are available). (2) Get a single meal to take away and split that between two people; for despite the high prices the portions are large and could be amply split between two, or make lunch and dinner for one. Bottom line: Soda, appetizer, entree, and dessert for one cost me about $30 (plus tip), although I got at least 2+ meals worth of food. more

Shorty's is worth the trip for one appetizer alone. The cheese sticks would more appropriately be called cheese LOGS as they are giant. These aren't your garden variety frozen cheese sticks. These are made on premises and if you get them there's your meal... so you'd better share. After all you want to save room for that chicken fried steak. It hangs over the edge of the plate. Not exactly fork tender but then again this is chicken fried steak and the whole reason these were invented was to make a non-tender cut of beef more palatable for the trail hands. Most of the apps are great at Shorty's. the ribs are fall-off-the-bone tender... steaks aren't bad. The chicken fingers are always fine. The best sandwich on the menu is the Turkey Club Croissant... it is quite excellent (the turkey is very good). Bottom line: Solid scarfing establishment where nobody puts on airs... the drinks are cold and the food is good. Don't let the hokey gimmicks and crapola for sale steer you away from what otherwise should be an enjoyable meal. more

During out cross country trip we stopped in OIklahoma City and ate at Shorty Smalls. The service was excellent and food were very good, especially the ribs....much better than the ones we had in Memphis. We would definitely go there again.Also, the prices were reasonable. more

I had been to Shorty Smalls years ago, but hadn't gotten back until recently. Not much has changed.The bartender was friendly and quick. The food was pretty good and decently priced. more

We got off at the wrong exit looking for a different place to eat and ended driving by Shorty's because of road construction. It looked interesting from the outside so we decided to try it. The food was great. Between our family of four we had ribs, steak, brisket and hamburger and all were great. Too much food really with the sides of beans, fries, slaw and cheese biscuit. Casual family atmosphere. more

Lots of fun and good food. In order to come up with the required 50 characters I will say that my server Tanya made an excellent salad and was a lot of fun to talk to. The prime rib was average. more

We had dinner there on a Tueday evening and everything was very good. I had the pork ribs which were plentiful and the best I've ever had. All the other entrees that were tried were delicious too. Prices were reasonable. more
