This is a local favororite, but it's worth the commute if you're not from the area. Owned and managed by friendly Japanese people, this food is authentic and tastes like it's fresh from Tokyo. I lived in Japan for a couple of years and was delighted to find a place that reminded me so much of my experience. Regulars will rave about the salads with crispy lettuce and a UNIQUE ginger dressing, but everything from the miso soup to the homemade gyoza dumplings to the katsu don (pork cutlet) are all delicious. It's casual and inexpensive (considering the high quality of sushi), so feel free to experiment with the menu, but be sure to order some sushi and say hi to the chef (Ito). I also thought the dream roll and the seaweed salad from the sushi bar were quite tasty.
Pros: authentic japanese food, tasty sushi and hot dishes, comfy, inexpensive
