Just found this store. If you want selection at a very competitive price....this is the store for you. They definitely have the best selection in town. Not sure how large the building is but seems like acres. I found shoes for my whole family here. This is my new fav! more

Albuquerque vs. Farmington 1/7/2012

The selections and assistants at both Abq. Stores are absolutely wonderful. I was shopping in the Farmington store today and was appalled at the lack of variety in both styles and colors. I was told that the gentleman who orders the shoes for them insists that women do not like colors. In the entire store, there were only brown and black shoes. Not even Blue! And over half the floor space is being sub-leased to a mattress retailer. If this store doesn't figure out what women want and like, I fear it will not be in business much longer. more

"Passport" savings 8/9/2009

Awhile back they offered a Passport to Savings that if you purchased would give you a 10% savings on regularly priced shoes and a jump on the yellow tags as it was eligible on the 23rd of every month. I jumped on this and paid the $10. BUT every time I have tried to use it there seems to be some small print that prevents it. Today when I tried the manager told me "oh well, you probably didn't pay for it anyway." and when I told him I paid $10, he just walked away. The card is a rip off scheme in my opinion, don't buy it. I shopped at the uptown store on Montgomery. more

SHOES GALORE!!! 9/26/2005

This place has the biggest selection of shoes in Alb. They have 2 locations, one on the east side and one on the west side. Keep in mind though that it is a lot like a DSW shoe whare house. So you have to flip through and shuffle through boxes. Sometimes you will find an amazing sale,and other times you will find shoes that the mall has as well for the same price. Save time and money and go straight back to the clearance section. Another plus, everything is divided up by COLOR!!!! not style. If you give them your email address they will send you coupons. This place just has so many kinds of shoes. I have seen hard to find styles as well. Check it out! more

Great shoes, not so great sizes 9/9/2005

I've never had much luck finding cute shoes for myself because I have wide feet. I tend to just settle for boots or tennis shoes because the effort of finding wide shoes that are attractive is always so hard. I was excited when I moved to Albuquerque because I heard of Shoes on a Shoestring. Although they have a very huge selection of shoes in many different styles and colors, they don't have many selections in wides. They do have a small area dedicated to wide shoes, but they're not very cute. I'd have to say that all in all, it's a great place for women with narrow feet, but if you have wide feet, keep on looking. more

More Shoes than God 7/27/2005

There is no woman in New Mexico who could resist a trip to Shoes on a Shoestring. They have more shoes than you know what to do with. You will almost pass out when you walk in from the selection alone. The shoes are organized by color versus size which is great. They have every kind of shoe you would ever imagine and then some. Then even have very narrow and very wide. The best kept secret is the shoes that are seasonal they put what the price when be in the upcoming months. Don't hold your breath that they will be there but it is fun to see it. more
