Shintomi Japanese Restaurant

We love to go to Shintomi every couple of weeks. They have a fun sushi bar, which is cozy and entertaining. Often, we are given samples of things we haven't ordered before. The appetizers are good, especially the dumplings. The bar drinks are good too. They are always happy to see us and we will be back there soon. more

They have been in this location for years, and it is so convenient for us, especially if we go shopping in Green Hills before or after eating there. Their employees are very efficient and friendly. They offer a wide variety of raw and cooked items, so when someone in our groups wants it, it is available. They have a super variety of rolls, and they are all excellent. The prices are about what you would expect in the area. more

Pretty good sushi with a lot of variety.\r It's a bit hidden off Hillsboro but they have good parking for that area.\r It's pretty popular w/ the local celebrities so might be a good place to run into someone famous.\r Price is a bit high but hey, it''s Green Hills. more

This is also the place if you want authentic Japanese dishes. Great service, cold Japanese beers, and wonderful, fresh sushi -- exactly what your favorite neighborhood sushi bar should be. Sit at the sushi bar if you want to experience Sunny's unique sense of humor and engaging wit....or just to watch the chefs prepare some fabulous sashimi platters for the groups of Japanese families and businessmen who frequent the place. The whitefish roll here is excellent, as are the edamami. I have never eaten anything here that I didn't enjoy. Pros: Excellent Sushi, Varied Menu, Good Parking Cons: Saki sel needs imp more

This is the restaurant that changed my mind about sushi! I was always very determined that I did not like sushi until a friend encouraged me to try sushi at Shintomi. I owe this friend a great debt. I now have to eat here at least twice a month. Their standard rolls are great but I go for the Wintertime and Summertime rolls. They are incredible! The entrees are very good as well, especially the teryaki meals. I definitely highly recommend Shintomi for seasoned sushi eaters and novices alike!
