If you need a great cut or color make Sheer Bliss your salon. I've been going to Jennifer Smith for over two years. Not only is she a talented stylist, but she truly takes the time to listen to what you want, and I can't say enough about her coloring skills. I always get compliments on my hair. The atmosphere of the salon is great! The whole staff is very professional and friendly. I can't recommend Sheer Bliss enough! I would never go anywhere else! Thank you Marti for having the best Day Spa in Durham with the most talented stylists! more

I could not be happier with my stylist at Sheer Bliss. If you're looking for someone who will not only take the time to get to know you and your hair but will truly educate you - without trying to sell you a million products call and book with Danielle NOW. I have so happy with my cut and color and this is the first time I can say that in YEARS!! The environment at Sheer Bliss is lovely. It doesn't have any negative strong odors, everyone is friendly and it's a relaxing experience. Can't recommend Danielle enough!! more

I recently saw Jennifer Smith, and I was extremely impressed. I have very difficult hair to work with because it is extremely fine. She gave suggestions about products and treatments that have helped me to manage my difficult mane. She was extremely personable during the appointment, and made the visit very comfortable. Overall, it was an excellent experience and I will recommend her to friends! more

I LOVE Sheer Bliss! The salon is gorgeous and makes you feel like a QUEEN!!!! Everytime I go to Sheer Bliss, I get so excited because I know I'll leave feeling like a super model!!! They're staff is awesome and always treats you like a friend rather than a client AND always knows the latest trends. Top of the Top for sure!!!! more

Failing fast 8/24/2011

I've been here several times, and every time, less satisfactory. This last visit was the bottom--AND THE END. Waited nearly ten minutes (in their new MUCH SMALLER location) with no one else there, for my stylist who came from the back, to write notes and chat with the counter girl for five minutes without even acknowledging my presence, then gave me a crooked, miserable haircut. FINI! more

Best haircut since moving to NC 12/26/2010

I moved to NC several years ago and have been to many salons in the Durham and Chapel Hill area, both expensive and inexpensive. After listening to my woes, a friend recommended Sheer Bliss. I came to Kristi Ashworth and got a haircut I not only liked but loved. It was worth every penny I paid, and was less expensive than what I had paid elsewhere. The first cut, she listened to what I requested and delivered 100%. Since then, I have had nothing but great haircuts! The last time I went in, I wanted a definitive change but wasn't sure exactly what I wanted, and she came up with the perfect not-to-drastic cut that I am still loving weeks later. Thanks for being my hair cutting and styling lifesavers! more

Sheer Bliss! 10/19/2010

Ditto to the curly hair review! Marti talked me into letting my 2 inch hair grow out curly about 15 years ago, and has been nurturing it and me ever since. Brooke has been highlighting for years, which reminds me I need to call and set up my next appt. Bonus: Laughter is almost guaranteed when Marti starts telling stories! more

Outstanding salon 10/15/2010

Marti has been cutting my hair for years, and I wouldn't go anywhere else. She takes the time to get to know all of her clients. She and cuts and colors my hair just the way I want it. I trust her completely with my hair. I love the compliments I get. I now live 20 miles away, but I don't mind the drive. She's worth it! All the staff are super friendly and helpful. more

Have curly hari? Need Color or an Updo? 9/17/2010

Do you have curly hair? Having a hard time finding someone who knows how to cut it? Come see Marti at Sheer Bliss. It's taken me years to find someone who can cut my hair. I've been coming to see Marti for the past 8 years and will be coming back here for years to come. Need your hair colored or an new style for a fancy occasion. Marti, Tim and Brooke both do fabulous things with color and Brooke has done my daughter's long curly hair for a number of dress up occasions..proms, etc. more

Conveniently located, Sheer Bliss has an array of services--from shampoo and style which I look forward to weekly--to wonderful facials and massages--great for a special treat. more

Brazilian Blowout! 8/15/2010

I absolutely ADORE my brazilian blowout. Not only is my hair straight, which is what I wanted, but it has absolutely NO frizz. I can blow dry my hair in 10 minutes and not have to then spend another 15-20 minutes straightening it. Although it is a somewhat costly procedure it has been worth every penny. My hair is also in much better shape than before the blowout. Its shiny, silky, and everyone wants to touch it. I would completely recommend getting this procedure if you have somewhat frizzy, wavy hair and want it de-frizzed. more
