I went in to have a color correction after I tried to use box color and thought I would like to go dark, well I didn't realize that noir brown was BLACK!!!! Yeah I guess I was having a blonde moment at the time but I was in tears when I was done so a friend recommended Jessica and I WAS SOOOOOOOOOOO impressed that she was so dedicated to making sure I was happy before I left, she spend HOURS correcting my color and then cut and styled my hair, I felt BEAUTIFUL when I left!!!! Thank you Jessica!!!! Pros: everything this girl is amazing!!!! Cons: NOTHING more

I found Michelle's salon several months (and one bad haircut) after moving to Beaverton a little over two years ago. After having had a very close relationship with my stylist in Seattle for the last ten years, it was really hard to find a replacement! Michelle was even kind enough to order in the same brand of color that my previous stylist had used. She cuts & colors my hair PERFECTLY - I get SO many compliments on my hair! I like to wear it short, and highlighting & cutting short hair well is definitely a special talent! I also adore her friendly & outgoing personality - I really look forward to my appointments with her! And she is WAY cuter than that Kate person with the litter of eight kids thats in the People magazine at the salon. more

My experience at Shear Elegance has always been excellent. My stylist Jessica is an absolute doll. She is very professional, courteous, friendly and of course very talented. I started going to Michelle just over a year ago. I had heard about her through a friend. I had been having my friend cut/color my hair for years in Eugene. My friend came up from Eugene to color my hair and she turned it from blonde to purple/black/blue. My friend took off to the bar and left me with a massive hair disaster. It was a Thursday night and Michelle didn't know me. I had her cell phone number and called her @ 10pm hoping she would answer my ""unknown"" number. I left her a voicemail crying and freaking out. Michelled called me back within 5 minutes of my voicemail. She listened to me and calmed me down. Told me she would fix it the next morning. I made the appointment with her the next day and she fixed my disaster hair color within 2 hours. You couldn't even tell my hair had been purple/black/blue after she finished it. She was fabulous! I went to this salon (now called Shear Obsession) and had a very bad experience. I explained what I wanted when I first sat down in the chair and I wish Michelle (the owner) would have listened to what I said. I wanted a couple inches off the back and then long layers that started a couple inches below my chin, I even put my hands to where I wanted them to start. She cut the 2 inches off the back and that was fine but then she started the layers and after the first cut I knew she was going shorter than I had wanted. I trusted her and thought I would just see what it ended up like, maybe it would be okay. When I got my hair dried I started crying, the layers started at my chin which was way shorter than I ever wanted to go and it just got worse once I left. I got home and once I started really looking at it, the left side was layered and I could have lived with it but the right side was totally different. I have one layer that is at chin level and then the rest of my hair is long, no in between lengths. It is totally butchered. I am now having to where my hair in a ponytail everyday and take prenatal vitamins until the left side grows out long enough for me to try to get someone else to fix it for me. If you give me a bad haircut that is one thing but to give me a bad haircut that isn't even close to even on both sides is just horrible. Michelle has only had her license for two years and it definately shows. Please schedule your appointment with another stylist if you go to Shear Obsession. The rates are good but as the saying goes, you get what you pay for. I don't know why it is so hard for stylists to listen carefully to what the client wants and then deliver it. I got my haircut back in January and had a great experience. But, when I tried getting another appointment again in March, I had a bad experience. I called the salon phone number SEVERAL times a day and no one ever answered or returned my phone call. Finally, I called a stylist personally and set up an appointment, which I later had to reschedule. I walked in at my original appointment time and there were two stylists in the building, and one client who was just finishing up. Both Michelle and Tiffany said they were totally busy (one was painting the walls) and would not give me an appointment. They acted annoyed as if I were really bothering their quiet afternoon. So, Michelle rescheduled me for the next night at 7 pm and then called within 24 hours to cancel it.\r \r I refuse to go there again because they treated me very poorly. Their prices are a little too high for the quality of haircut as well.\r Pros: Decent skill with hair cutting Cons: Poor customer service more

Also, I have NEVER done Feliz's hair and would never....... so that was another big lie! If any of you want the truth, ask all the other stylists there at the salon. more

Reply back to the review dated April 28, 2008. I check the voicemail at the salon at least 3 times a day for messages, new clients, etc.... Also, we all are very consistant about answering the phones. Yes, Tiffany and I were both painting the salon on a Monday, a very slow day at the salon. I have NEVER turned down a client, new client especially so I have no idea what this so called person is talking about as far as me calling him back to reschedule. That NEVER happened, nor would I allow it. more

Will never set foot back in there. There's a new owner and she doesn't know her head from her A*#!! And it turns out she's right out of beauty school! EEEKK!!! My hair was so messed up I had to track down the old owner so she could fix it! Much better! That salon has taken a complete 180 in the wrong direction. Cons: If you like your hair don't go! more
