Sharper Impressions Painting

Our experience with Sharper Impressions Painting in Naperville was horrendous! The only time the foreman came to the job was to pickup the check. His crew did a bad job of prepping all surfaces - deck, fence, and house trim. They did not have the right tools for the job and actually had to borrow mine. Their supplies like sanding blocks had been over-used by the time they got here. I had to complain to management in order to get them to do a daily cleanup. They were supposed to do 2 coats on everything, but to them that just mean putting more paint on during the first coat. They didn't actually do 2 coats on the fence - the guy painting the fence admitted it and said it was because ""the color would be too dark."" When spraying the fence, they stained some equipment on my neighbor's yard. They could have easily moved or covered it up, but they just sprayed way. On the deck, the stain has already started coming off and it's been less than a month! They had painted on top of loose chips. When I asked them about that, they said they'd come back the next day and sand it off and do it again, but then at the end of that day they declared they were done and left.\r \r They did offer to come back and fix their terrible job under their warranty but I don't want them anywhere near my property. Too, because the prep is the real problem, just adding more paint and stain on top won't fix anything. \r \r STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. They are NOT in control of their subcontractors. During the job it was hard to reach the company rep, who did not return my calls / emails in a timely fashion. Or, I'd ask several questions in an email and he'd answer only the easy one. more

The whole company, from Manager to Painters were prompt and professional. I was provided an exact price quote that was printed and given to me before the manager left after my quote. No deposit was needed. The price was right in between my other two quotes and with the references in my own neighborhood I didnt hesitate to sign up. My house was very dirty with mildew and dirt, so I was glad that the powerwasher cleaned the home very quickly and thoroughly. I had help from their color consultant, and we picked out the colors in just about 30 minutes. The painters were very nice. They walked the job with me before starting. Everyday they cleaned up. We received two coats of paint and the new color looks amazing! They were careful to protect my windows with plastic and not stomp my gardens. They replaced all the shutters and downspouts once they painted them all with my new colors. The neighbors love the new style. I would recommend this painting services to anyone. more

Honestly, everything started out ok on this job but towards the end it got really weird. The weather was getting bad and the painter wanted to stop and come back and finish up anything in the spring that needed touch ups. There was already some bubbling going on on certain parts of the house. I was promised by the painter and his foreman that one day in the Spring they would come out no problem. I mean i do have a contract and a 3 year warranty. The last day off the job which was mostly gathering their equipment and cleaning out my garage where they worked for a month, the painter approached me and said Sharper Impressions was not paying him what they promised and asked me to pick up the difference. I told him my contract was with Sharper Impressions, not him but I would call his foreman and see what was up. He sounded desperate. He had really worked hard. I called the local foreman and he never called me back after 3 calls. I finally called the company headquarters because I was worried for the painter but also worried if he wasn't getting paid, then he wouldn't want to come back and finish up. I was told that the foreman had been fired by the owner of the company Geoff Sharp. Mr Sharp also promised me that they would come finish up in the Spring no problem and not too worry. I have now been calling for a month and getting no response or call back whatsoever. I have a contract that guarantees the work for 3 years and they never even finished and part of it is bubbling and needs repairing. They are obviously trying to get out of repairing any work and avoiding me at this point. They have basically stolen money from me. I have contacted a lawyer and intend to take it as far as I can based solely on principal if nothing else. They are a SHADY company. I now have been finding many other reviews were people are having similar problems. They will probably be out of business soon which is fine by me. Go elsewhere for your painting needs. more

The whole experience was surprisingly simple and stress free. The quote was quick and Chad was a real nice guy. We weren?t sure at first what work we actually wanted to get done this year, but Chad had no problem breaking up the quote for us into smaller portions. We decided to go ahead and get all the work done this year instead of waiting and doing even more work next year. My wife really needed help figuring out color schemes and she is one of the most indecisive people out there. They set up a meeting with the color consultant; they came out and worked with my wife to pick out the right colors for our home. She was so relieved to know she would have professional help with such a big, long lasting decision. Once we had everything picked-out, Chad got us scheduled right away, the crew was great and efficient. The whole process was great, and with something that is such a large investment, you really want to make sure it gets done right; Sharper Impressions Painting did a great job and we would definitely recommend them to friends and family. We were trying to sell our home but the realtor told us we really needed to get some wood rot replaced on the exterior trim of our home and should repaint to update the colors a bit. This sounded like a lot of work on a house that we were just trying to sell. We got a flyer in the mail with a discount on the wood rot repair and painting if we went with Sharper Impressions; we called and had them out for a free quote and the price was surprisingly reasonable considering we were looking for a basic paint job. I was shocked to see how much more response we got from our listing with the new paint colors. We ended up selling the house 10 days after the painters finished the work. It was worth the time and effort to have them complete the work professionally; we plan to use Sharper Impressions when we?re ready to paint our new home. My husband likes to pretend that he is a handy guy who can fix things; but every time he tries to help around the house, it ends up costing more money to have a professional come out to fix his mistake and the original problem. We had wood rot on several places around the house, and our gutters needed cleaned and re-painted. After seeing his life flash before his eyes more than once, my husband asked me to call around and get different prices for the work. Sharper Impressions Painting wasn?t the cheapest or most expensive. The original price was pretty middle of the road, but with the additional 25% off they give from their flier it wasn?t that bad at all. My husband didn?t know why I wouldn?t just go with the cheapest bid, until I explained that we get a free color consultation, both material and labor warranties and a much more experienced company. He finally agreed with me and let me move forward with Sharper Impressions Painting. After that the work was completed quickly and efficiently. It was nice to go through an entire process like painting your home and never get a head ache from trying to deal with the painting company or painters.
