Shannon's Pet Sitting

This is our 3rd time using Shannon, I would not even think of using a different pet sitter. The bad review here is BS and I can guarantee it didnt go down that way. We just lost one of our dogs one week before vacation and were very hurt, Shannon sent us a card and a beautiful momento as well as a tribute on her facebook page. It is apperant that she LOVES her work and the critters she watches. When we were gone on vacation Rocky was not eating well so Shannon concoted a special dinner for him so he would eat! (yes she cooked for our Rocky!) She texted me on vavation to ask permission to take him on a walk and then put pictures online of a very happy pooch that just lost his room mate and his family all in one week! When i got home the fish were fed, the mail was on the island, the house was spotless and the dishes were even done! Do not hesitate to use Shannon, she is the real deal! THANK YOU SHANNON! more

I admit was very hesitant to let a stranger in my house to care for my cat. I did a full check into Shannon including references. All her references gave glowing reports & her credentials were outstanding. She is reliable, responsible and very good with my temperamental cat. I especially like how she texts me periodic reports on how Callie is doing, including adorable pictures. You don't realize how much you rely on somebody until you have a real emergency. I got the call that my husband was in a bad car accident out of state while traveling on business. He was in ICU & I had to fly immediately to be with him. One of my first calls was to Shannon. She was there for us with no notice to jump in & help with Callie for as long as it took for us to come home. Another time we left town & the cleaning people came the same day. Callie is allowed outdoors when we are home. Apparently she had given the cleaning people kitten eyes & they allowed her outside not knowing we were not returning home. Shannon arrived to care for her & she greeted her in the driveway! This gave Shannon a heart attack knowing this was not the norm but she was able to get Callie to come in the house with her. If Callie hadn't been comfortable or known her she would have rather remained outside. Shannon immediately called me to make sure everything was okay & see if I knew Callie was out. I'd highly recommend Shannon. She has our cat?s best interest at heart & has been there for us in emergency situations. more

After reading all the good reviews, I was hopeful to put my closely bonded kitty in her care when I was going overseas for 3 weeks in September. It was a total shock to horrific details when I came back. This was a large engagement with a sensitive kitty so it will truly show what the pet sitter is all about. Below are all facts I even discussed with her. I hired Shannon mainly for over night stays my cat, in purported service over $1300. Here is what I got: 1. When I returned, the house was freezing, over 25 degrees below normal, with heavy metal music blasting in stereo in an empty cold house. It was psychotic. 2. Despite her ""everything ready"" message at 4 pm on the day I returned, there was poop on bed, poop in liter box, multiple urine blocks in liter box. The liter box has multiple days of contents. 3. All drinking bowls were dirty. food bowl overflowing with stale food the kitty obviously didn't touch, It was a scene that no one had been here for days. The cat was hungry when I returned and I had to dump all the stale food for him to start eating. 4. I left with Organic Lactose Free milk in the fridge, with Shannon ackowledging she would have to get fresh milk as needed. When I returned, the open carton of milk was spoiled with rancid smell. Yet she still put it in the feeding bowl. 5. I put out trash 3 weeks before when I left, they were still sitting in the garage when I came back, reeking with overwhelming rotten stench. 6. There was an unhealthy plant due to over watering, that I had given specific watering instruction before I left. Weeks after I came back , the overflowing pan was still full. This horrifying over flowing has to be result of one time cover-up. Otherwise you can't ignore the amount of water coming out. 7. After all the nights she supposed to have stayed, and the sheet she supposed to have washed, The new bed sheets and pillow cases had the same creases coming out of the box. clearly never touched. 8. Above all, the kitty was absolutely emaciated under her care. It had lost 20% of body weight in 3 weeks, had sore on mouth. It was heart breaking when I came back seeing him trying to vocalize while completely lost voice. Finally, when I asked her to show me what I paid her for, she slammed the key on the table, said ""have a nice day!"" and walked out! more

Shannon sat for our cat, ""Moby"", last week while we were on vacation. This was the first time leaving him. Moby does not warm up to anyone; after 5-7minutes of the initial meet and greet at our home, he came out of hiding and rubbed up against her leg and let Shannon pet him. more

She is the most professional pet sitter I think I've ever met. What I like about her is when you hire Shannon - you get Shannon EVERYTIME! I don't have to worry about who else is coming into my home. more

Shannon has been a loyal, kind and gracious pet sitter for our english bulldog, Bam, for more than 2 years. She always has Bam's best interest at heart. Shannon lets us know in advance if she is going to be available to watch Bam during a holiday as well as if she's going to be out of town or unavailable. It is extremely evident that she cares very deeply for each pet she takes care of. If we ever need her last-minute she's always able to help out. Bam is a part of our family and we only want the best for him. We know that Shannon provides wonderful care and would recommend her to anyone needing assistance with their pets. more

Shannon's has been taking care of our diabetic Vizsla for almost a year now. I wouldn't trust our beloved Tiger with anybody else! She's reliable, knowledgeable & responsible. Instead of being nervous & scared when the suit cases come out now he's curious & happy. I think he knows Shannon's going to be coming. We have no worries when we go away - we know Tiger is in excellent hands. more

Shannon's been taking care of my cats for years. I've always been happy with her service, but didn't think much about it. This Thanksgiving however, my kitty got sick two days before I was supposed to go away! She had to stay in the hospital for a couple of days and would be ready to come home the day I left! I called Shannon and she took care of everything.. including my worries!! She picked Connie up from the hospital (which was a half hour away), brought her home, made sure she was alright, administered her medicine AND kept me updated the whole time. All this at her busiest time of the year! Because of Shannon I was able to go home without to much guilt, and know that my kitty was in very good hands! I unconditionally recommend Shannon!! more

Shannon took excellent care of my diabetic cat Saki while I was to of town. She went above & beyond to show me that she knew exactly what she was doing when it came to giving Saki her insulin injections. (You'd be amazed at how many sitters claim to know what they are doing & really don't!) She even came over a few times before I left so I could see her give Saki the injections. She didn't charge me extra for giving the shots & Saki was comfortable with her. I have the utmost confidence in Shannon! Anybody who has pets with medical issues should use her. She is very personable & knowledgeable. more

Top notch service!! Our pets were well cared for & we received updates while away. The best service & most reasonably priced in the area. You can tell Shannon really loves the animals & works hard to provide the best care possible. more

Shannon was the answer to my prayers when I moved to Dundee & needed a pet sitter this past spring. I didn't know anybody & was unfamiliar with the area. Shannon took the time to come meet with me & my dog Fargo. She was so friendly & helpful! She was able to recommend local pet services she knew & worked with. As well as other things in the area I needed help finding. During the trip I received updated picture text message of what the two of them were up to. Shannon played with him, took him for walks, & car rides. He ate & had plenty of treats & rawhides too! It was as if I had never left. When I came back from my trip she had brought in all the mail. watered my plants & spoiled Fargo rotten! What surprised me the most was she had asked that I call her when I returned to confirm I was back & Fargo was okay. I had forgotten to call her. I got a call first thing in the morning from her confirming I had arrived home. Fargo doesn't get as anxious when I pull out the suit cases now & I have peace of mind he's in good hands! I don't just consider her my a pet sitter, she's a friend & neighbor! more
