Im certainly glad that you are happy at how your horse was treated. Seems I can't even get any of the professional riders, to ride my horse, as I don't do shows, and so he's there...

awesomest place ever 3/21/2010

Shadow Creek Stables is a place where it is quite challenged but in a very very fun way. Shere the horses are stubborn but like all barns have stubborn horses and all barns have very easy-going horses, just like Shadow Creek Stables! Pros: very responsible Cons: it can be hard to find more

Nice place, nice people 10/9/2009

I have worked in many horse facilities throughout Minnesota. Mostly horse barns training for hunters and jumpers, but some dressage and quarter and western places as well. I do chores and help around. Feed and lead horses to paddocks, clean stalls, fix fences, that sort of thing. Load hay and bedding, I've been doing this off and on for well over fifteen years. I now have been working at Shadow Creek Stables for about four years and I think it is a wonderful place for lessons or board. It is not as big as some places, but I think its perfectly located on hwy61 and is priced reasonably. The trainers are really good and they can take you from you're very first ride to six foot jumps, if you're up to it. I like the owners and they have been here for decades and knows the business in and out. I may be biased, but I think you would be very hard pressed to find a better place to board in this area. Chip Pros: Very reasonable rates, 30+ years in operation. Cons: It can be a little tricky to find. more

What a nightmare 5/8/2009

Im certainly glad that you are happy at how your horse was treated. Seems I can't even get any of the professional riders, to ride my horse, as I don't do shows, and so he's therefore not worth riding, even though I pay the same amount for a professional ride as everyone else. As far as the indoor arena, people can forget about it. It is constantly full of lessons in the winter. In summer there's an outdoor arena, but if you're planning to ride indoors, in winter, unless you are taking a lesson, you might as well forget about it. The lesson horses are well cared for, but they spook, buck and have behavioral issues that most people don't want to deal with. I think the stable owner is prejudiced, hostile and two faced. Pros: horses get food Cons: hostility more

love it 1/2/2009

Shadow creek is like a second home. I've been riding there fore nearly seven years, and i can honestly say i love it there. its run by real people caring for real horses, and its heated which is really wonderful. The lesson horses are well cared for and very talented, and the boarded horses are beautifully tended to. I have been to several other barns and nothing quite compares. Shadow creek lessons give students an entire skill set to use in many ways, teaching fundamentals of horsemanship above all else. All of the people are happy to help each other out, and its like one huge family. I wouldn't trust anyone else with my horse. Pros: service, product, horse care, consideration, heated facilities, informed instructors, variety of teaching styles Cons: small facilities more
