Looking for a place to meet for lunch near 35E and 94 I Googled and discovered a gem. A family owned and operated restaurant for 64 years and what a gem. We ordered the hand pounded pork tenderloin sandwiches (hard to find these days) and they were excellent. We told the waitress of our family""s 52 year history of The Diner in Mpls. Separately, both the owners/cooks who are brothers came out to chat with us. Very friendly. We were too content to order the home made pie we had earlier mentioned to the waitress but to our delight we were each sent home with a piece compliments of the owners. I almost felt guilty because the prices are so reasonable. If you don't want to end up with only chain food choices, support local business and help keep them around and preserve our local history. more
