First of all, Sense of Serenity needs to change the name of the place. There was nothing serene, relaxing, or calm about the joint. In an attempt to find a spa in the south suburbs where my mom lives, instead of trekking downtown, I stumbled upon this place. One good thing I can write is that the website is beautiful and well done. It does not truthfully represent the place. It is the most unprofessional establishment I have ever been in. The workers come in at any given hour (late for my appts), wearing their street clothes (no type of uniform, apron, lab coat, etc.). They sit in the lobby and loudly discuss their personal lives. The services that my mom and I signed up for were massages and pedicures. We could not receive these services at the same time, nor interchangeably. There seemed to be only one person for each service they offer. I waited the 30 mins for my mom's massage to be completed before getting mine. You'd think that when my massage began, her pedicure would be initiated, right? No. The pedicurist was running late. Meanwhile the manager started my mom's pedicure, sitting on the floor with a thong, with most of her behind hanging out. Who doesn't feel a draft? Anyway, I once again waited until my mom's pedicure was completely finished before starting mine. Furthermore, in the time I waited before my massage, I inquired about the placement of eyelashes. I was told by the receptionist that the massage therapist was the only one who performed this service, and she was booked. Following my massage (while waiting for my pedicure), the massage therapist hung out in the main seating/pedicure/ manicure area talking to the rest of the staff, cutting out school pictures of her kids, walking to the gas station to get snacks, etc. This place was an utter mess, that tends to get the business of locals and/or personal acquaintances. They have no idea how to professionally run a business, nor an idea of what the name of the place implies.
