Amazing pet store 2/4/2011

I have been in the pet business and been a personal collector of reptiles and fish for years. This place is the best pet shop in town. the employees are passionate and know what the are talking about. if they don't have something they will happily try to get it for you and all with a smile. the owner is very generous and is ready to go out of his way to help people. as for the comment above; i have been a repeat customer here for years and in all that time have never seen any abused or mistreated animals. if anything the fish tanks can appear dirty at times. i have purchased several ""rescue"" pets from there that boarders decided to never pick up and abandon. i too know that several of the people that work there have also taken in these strays. if you visited the store on a hot day after close and saw the bird (which i find hard to believe because boarded birds are kept in back, far from any windows) it is very likely that it had dried while none was there to fill it. anyway regardless ignore said comment above and take it from a professional shop here they wont leave you or your pets unhappy! more

I purchased an aquarium from a friend and spent the better part of last Saturday moving the aquarium and the fish. After just a few hours in the tank all the fish looked like they were in shock. The filter was not pumping any water. I went to a chain store with the filter and asked for help. I did not purchase the filter there but I was in a bit of a panic. They wanted a water sample (which i forgot) and tried to sell me 5 different bottles of Declor and Slime Coat, etc. I told them that the filter wasn't working and they told me that they did not sell that model so they could not help me. They recommended a new one. I left and drove to Sensational Pets to see about maybe getting my filter fixed. The guy that helped me got the filter running and explained what had happened. He also asked for a water sample but when I said I forgot it he continued to help me. He gave me some strips so that I could check the water when I got home and told me what to do if the water was bad. Wow what service. Fixed my filter No Charge, gave me test strips to save me a trip back to the store, and the guy stayed 15 minutes after closing to make sure I was set. more

I have to say that my experiences have always been exceptionally good. Excellent service, friendly people, clean environment, knowledgeable personal , very understanding and trust worthy. I have done numerous transactions and have gotten very good results. I would recommend the store to any one. Pros: parking more

NEVER board your pet here. 7/7/2008

We recently boarded our cockatiel at this store. My mother went to go pick up our bird, but when she got there the store was closed so she had to wail until the following day. Our bird was visible from the window, and she did notice that the bird was trying to drink out of her water cup, but was not getting any water. The following day when the bird was picked up, the guy at the counter pretended to ""empty"" the water cup ""so the water wouldn't spill on the car ride home"" before he handed the bird over. My mom checked the cup and it was BONE DRY. When confronted, the guy admitted that there was no water. She suspects the cup was never refilled while the bird was at the store. It was a hot weekend, and needless to say, our cockatiel was not in good shape. If this is how boarded animals are treated, I can only imagine what the pets there that are for sale go through. I would not recommend patronizing this store. more
