I rented a moving truck as well as a storage unit from Security Self Storage. It was a great experience, I had no problems at all! I found the whole process to be much easier than I anticipated which is helpful since moving is so stressful already. Having this aspect of it go so smoothly was wonderful! Sonya was absolutely incredible - some of the best customer service I've ever gotten. Not only was she incredibly friendly and helpful, but she made some excellent recommendations. She reserved a truck for me over the phone, and offered to buy back some of the boxes I bought if I didn't use them all. She even said she'd mail some of my packages to me in New Mexico if I ran out of time! Talk about going above and beyond to please the customer! The units are climate controlled, which means they're a little more expensive than other rental places. However, it was worth it to me to make sure my wood furniture didn't get moldy from humidity. And convenience - they have Uhaul trucks available for rent that made moving my stuff into storage so much easier! The units are gated (need passcode) and padlocked, and not everyone gets 24 hour access - you have to ask for it if you want it. So I feel very confident in their security features. Overall: friendly helpful service + on-site truck rental + secure facility made storing my furniture the easiest and most satisfying part of my move! I recommend them 100%. The manager at Security Self Storage was really helpful and pleasant. She reserved a unit for me over the phone and gave me a great special. There was no long lease which was great because I had planned to need the storage for 6 months but only ended up needing it for 2. The grounds were clean and neat and the solar panels are a very cool idea. It's good to see a company that cares about the environment. We own a small business and have multiple units at Security Self Storage on Tryon Rd and we have never had any problems in the remotest sense. They have super lighting and cameras everywhere -- I am even afraid to pick my nose...LOL They are always riding around and cleaning newly avail units, etc. They are also the first storage facility in NC from what I have heard, to have use solar energy. My experience was wonderful! The manager was very nice and helpful. The place was clean and well lit at night and the security cameras are great! I also love the fact that they are ""green friendly"" because they have the solar panels - I thought that was really neat and stood out from all the other places I looked into. They are right there by I-40 which is really convenient for me! I would highly recommend them to anyone! Pros: helpful, clean, great prices, green friendly, secure Cons: none! more

I called this self storage business among a few others in the neighborhood. The person that answered the phone was vague about pricing and how much I would be spending overall to move in. Prices seemed to vary quite a bit and nothing was guaranteed. My price was going to be raised in the busy season I was told even though I would have only been there a few months and I had no idea how long it was going to take to have my house built. Pros: None that I could tell. Cons: Slack security, No exterminator, No price guarantee, No resident manager more

This company has terrible customer service. The managers and owner are a nightmare to deal with. I never realized you could screw up running a self storage unit, but they managed to make my experience a disaster. Worst place to rent a storage unit in Raleigh hands down. I've moved my stuff elsewhere and have had a much better experience. Cons: My unit was climate controlled, yet filled with spiders and other insects. Customer service terrible. more
