SECO IS A LIVING REAL NIGHTMARE 9/12/2010

TWO MONTHS AFTER SECO INSTALLED NEW TRANE HEATING AND AIR CONDITIONING UNITS( $14,000) WE LEFT ON A TRIP TO WISCONSIN. AND WE PROGRAMMED THE CONTROLLING WALL UNIT TO OPERATE ON AUTO. WE RETURNED A MONTH LATER AT 8PM. THERE WAS A HEAT WAVE HERE IN ROSEVILLE AND THE TEMP IN OUR HOUSE WAS 97 DEGREES. WE COULD NOT GET THE AC TO WORK.WE WENT TO A HOTEL($109). THE NEXT MORNING WE BEGAN TO CALL SECO AT 7AM. NO ONE ANSWERED BUT WE WERE PROMPTED TO LEAVE A MESSAGE. WE EVENTUALLY LEFT THREE MESSAGES. WHEN SECO FINALLY CALLED IT WAS 12 NOON. BY THIS TIME I WAS DRENCHED IN SWEAT. THEY WANTED TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT FOR THREE DAYS LATER. I REJECTED THAT AND I INSISTED ON TALKING TO SOMEBODY THAT COULD HELP US..AFTER A LONG CONVERSATION IN WHICH I TOLD SECO THAT MY HEALTH WAS AT STAKE(DIABETIC ON INSULIN--AND I WAS NOT EATING DUE TO THE 95 DEGREES IN MY HOME- THEY AGREED TO SEND SOMEONE OUT. THE REPAIRMAN SHOWED AT 6PM. IT STILL WAS NOT WORKING WHEN HE LEFT AT 7:45 PM. HE TOLD US THAT A ""CONTROLLER"" HAD FAILED BUT HE DID NOT HAVE THE PART NEEDED TO REPLACE THE ""DEFECTIVE "" ONE. WE WENT TO A HOTEL AGAIN($114). HE RETURNED THE NEXT MORNING.HE SAID THAT HE HAD BEEN ORDERED TO INFORM US THAT WE HAD TO PAY HIM $198 FOR THE PART AND ITS INSTILLATION. AND UNLESS I GAVE HIM A CHECK HE WOULD NOT INSTALL THE PART. OVER MY VOCIFEROUS OBJECTIONS I HANDED OVER A CHECK. WHEN HE LEFT THE AC HAD BEGUN WORKING. I KNEW IT WOULD TAKE SEVERAL HOURS TO GET COMFORTABLE. BY 8 PM THE AC DIED ONCE MORE. OVER THE NEXT TWO WEEKS THIS SEQUENCE OF EVENTS KEPT REPEATING. TEMP IN OUR HOUSE WAS IN THE 90'S. SECO KEPT UP THE CHARADE TELLING US IT WAS AN ""ACT OF GOD"" AND THEY WERE NOT RESPONSIBLE. AT ONE POINT THEY SHOWED US SOMETHING BLACK AND GREEN AND CALLED IT AN ELECTROCUTED FROG THAT SHORTED OUT OUR UNIT. AFTER MANY CALLS FROM US THEY AGREED TO REPLACE THE TRANE UNITS. AFTER THEY DID THE AC WORKED. WHEN THE WERE LEAVING I ASKED THEM IF THEY WERE GOING TO RETURN THE UNIT TO GOD. SECO HAS NEVER RE-INBURSED US FOR OUR HOTEL EXPENSES OR FOR THE $198 FOR THE ""DEFECTIVE"" CONTROLLER. NOR HAVE THEY RE-INBURSED US FOR THE TWO WEEKS OF MISERY WE INDURED BEFORE THE TRANE UNIT WAS REPLACED, THIS COMPANY IS ABSOLUTELY THE WORST I HAVE ENCOUNTERED IN THE 13 YEARS I HAVE LIVED IN SUN CITY ROSEVILLE. IN TERMS OF SERVICE STARS I WOULD AWARD THEM A MINUS 50. more

poor service 1/20/2010

i would give this place a zero star if i could. we had seco come out. the maintenance guy did a ""maintenance"" and told us everthing was fine and sold us a $119 filter. after he left, we couldn't turn on the heater...called seco and was told if they came out again, there would be a charge. so i checked the furnace and the guy fogot to plug the unit in. still no heat so we called bell brothers who did a real maintenance and found out the circuit board was not working. didn't the maintenance detect this? DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! more

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE 8/18/2009

Seco put in a new heating and air system in my home on 8-3-09. The installation went great and so far the Trane equipment is working excellent. My complaint with SECO is that there customer service is really lacking. I called at least 9 times since having my system installed to ask info on the rebates and to also find out when someone would be coming back to my house to put a new vent cover in my kitchen (they didnt have it during install). After callling the sales consultant 4 times and leaving msgs, I finally called the office and was told someone would get back to me but they never did, so I called back and finally spoke with someone and they told me again someone would call me back regarding the rebate info and to schedule another appt to put on a new vent cover. As of this writing I still have not heard anything. After you purchase then you dont hear from them again. SHAME ON YOU SECO!! Pros: Trane equipment works great Cons: Horrible customer service more

Seco helped when Brower failed 7/27/2009

I found Brower Mechanical's number in the phone book I set an appointment up with them and they never showed up! I ended up setting an appointment with seco through home depot and they came out and gave me down to the penny pricing and I was able to charge it on my home depot card. The installers took great care when replacing my system and I am able to enjoy my new a/c with no payments for a full year. Thank you home depot and Seco for takeing such good care of my needs. more

I love my new trane 7/27/2009

By far one of the most professional companies i have dealt with thus far. I had an estimate by another company and they were very poor at estimating what I would be paying for a system and didnt even tell me what kind of savings I would be expecting on my utility bills. Seco had my pricing down to the penny and compared my bills to what they said I would be paying using a trane. Their estimate was exact and I was never left feeling uneasy or like I was getting a poor deal or an estimate that was too good to be true. By far the best heating and a/c company I have ever had the pleasure of doing business with. They made this one of the best summers for me in a long time. Pros: very professional. Cons: none at all! more

SECO Saved my summer! 7/27/2009

I was in the market for a new heating and air unit a few weeks ago when my 45 year old a/c unit finally decided to stop cooling my home and started shaking so badly it sounded like someone was jackhammering outside of my living room. I had heard about SECO from a friend of mine I work with who had his system installed by them a couple years back. He said his trane unit was the best thing that has happened to improve his ability to save money on energy since he bought a prius! Pros: Super fast from estimate to install. Cons: none at all. more

My A/c system was old on on it's last legs. I gave Seco a call and they sent Jeff out to give us an estimate for a new one the same day! We purchaced the system on Tuesday and he was able to get us financed on the spot and we had the new system installed on Thursday! The install went smooth and our electric bills have actually dropped to under $100 a month. I love my new Trane and I highly recommend SECO! Pros: Helped me out when I was in need more

BEWARE of SECO 6/3/2009

We purchased a $14,000 Trane for our home in 2006. In less than 3 years the freon all leaked out and locked up not one but both of the compressors. This was our fault for not having it serviced and maintenance done on it EVERY YEAR on this brand new bazillion dollar Trane according to DERRICK at SECO. We were told by the salesman that this ""Cadillac of air conditioners"" would never need any maintenance. BEWARE PUBLIC !!!! They will not honor their commitments or make it right when something goes wrong. Purchase ELSEWHERE !!!!! Pros: We Purchased a 14,000 TRANE Cons: They Wont Honor the Warranty more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY TO GET TRANE PRODUCTS 4/16/2009

HEED A WARNING! SECO Representatives said all would be taken care of and all I had to do was sit back and relax Needless to say this wasn't the case at all! Install took 12 hours. The installer advised us that it would cost us another 2K to make the Trane System work efficiently and effectively due to our Beutler Circuit board, saying that the Sales Reps don't always know to include this into the contract. Mind you, we had already put out 17K going from a 10 Sr to a 20 Sr plus the TRANE Effects Clean air Unit! They scraped and dented our wall in removing the old unit-staco fixed finally 5 days later- due to my calling. Installers didn't have a ladder long enough to get to the top of our roof to close off the flue which also took 13 days until this was completed-due to my calling. Painter didnt come out until 14 days later because the staco and painter are separate contractors. Rebates were not completed correctly so they had to be corrected and resent to us- again due to my calling. We were also promised a follow up visit and that wasnt done until 04/10/2009- after SECO had received my dissatisfactory survey. Only to get the run around yet again, first appt they didnt show up at promised time, second appt installer shows up not as a follow up appt but to notify us that he was there to check out our dysfunctional circuit board! Oh and he advised us that the installer mispoke when he mentioned the old Beutler Circuit board!! So now here we sit 5 weeks later with the same old Beutler Circuit board and finally done with SECO and their less then stellar customer service! Pros: Customer Service less than adequite!!! Cons: Took more then a month to be completed!! more

Negligent service - break your appliances then try to sell you new ones 8/9/2008

Seco Heating & Air came to my house to repair my non working a/c unit. The first technician left telling me the unit wasn't working but would be working by 4p.m. when it ""reset"". It never ""reset"" and the company sent out a second technician. This one told me the unit was ""unrepairable"" and that I needed to purchase a new one. more
