Best Dog Obedience in Seattle 11/4/2009

We are taking puppy classes at Seattle Dogworks. They are by far the best dog training facility in the area and we have attended classes at several others chools with our other dogs.\r \r Seattle Dogworks has a great philosophy and their techniques work. Their instructors are professional and helpful. They are there to answer any questions during and even after classes. I don't get the feeling they are pushing you out the door when class is over. Their affection for your animals is evident. \r \r Your have the option of using clicker training or not. I was anti-clicker training and I now see the benefit of using a clicker with a puppy. \r \r We are very pleased with Seattle Dogworks. Pros: Professional and Friendly Instructors more

Great training for your urban pooch. 7/16/2007

Think you shouldn't play tug with your dog? Believe your dog is trying to be the ""alpha"" by butting into the doorway before you? Nope. You don't know dogs until Cristine and her crew really teach you about dogs. Classes for puppies big and small emphasize on learning about dog behavior and how to reward - not punish - your pooch into doing what you want them to do (most of the time). The crazy thing is, it really works, with the added benefit that your dog is happily socialized and super tired at the end of each class. Practical tips, realistic ""homework"" each week, and a good variety of classes and times. Our favorite part from Puppy I is the emergency recall word, which gives us a little peace of mind if our girl tries to make a run for it. We really recommend classes from Seattle Dogworks. Pros: In-city training spot, easily accessible from downtown and South Seattle too. Cons: Sometimes tough to park. Really tough to get your dog to leave the studio after a fun class. more
