Worst customer service and unreliable pick up 5/5/2011

they don't pick up your trash they will not credit your account. if trash days fall on holiday they say they will pick up double next time. If they miss pick up they say they'll pick up double...meanwhile birds, or animals can get into trash as not prepared for double cans for their mistakes. The customer service people are rude and unhelpful. If you can use anyone else...go elsewhere! more

Very surprised at the comment re: service. Spoke with a woman named T. and very helpful. I was expecting much less after reading comments. Payments easy and service beginning next week. No problems. I hope service will be as reliable and prompt. more

I have been using their service for 7 months and have not experienced a problem with the pickups. As long as you put out your trash following their rules,- 6 bags or 6 cans- bundle your branches, etc...then there shouldnt be an issue. My can has always been placed back on my sidewalk with the lid next to it, and even though they come through at 3 am...it seems they do a fairly decent job. Now the customer service is another issue- setting up my account was frustrating because the lady in the office had ""better things to do"" and didnt like that I was asking questions... they do have an option to pay online which I have utilized that is simple. You cant expect the world from a sanitation company or any company for that matter- so overall I would have to say they are decent. more

The worst 6/7/2010

This company has no competition. That's the reason there so horrible. They always leave trash on the ground. They throw the trash cans on the ground or leave them half in the street. We are on private roads and the truck has completely destroyed the roads in our community. When contacted about it they said get another service. I wish I could. Terrible 11/2/2009

Even though I pay for a full year of service I can never get them to pick up on a regular basis. When they don't show up and I have to call, the driver comes back with an attitude and tries to tell me the stuff wasn't there. Office staff seems to care, but the drivers don't. ive had this service for about 3 years now and they have yet to pick up my trash twice a week for 1 month straight. when we subscribed to their service the agreement stated they would pick up trash twice a week, 1 can or 6 bags under 40lbs each. this is yet to be seen and we still have to place a call at least once a month to pick up our garbage. they dont return calls, often very rude when you do get through ans still we get curbside service only once a week. we always pay our bill on time, never exceed their limits to pick-up and we cant find out why they dont live up to their part of the agreement. so lets just see how effective their crews are come 2009. im sure it will be the same, with less visits. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!! more

Terrible service; ""Don't Care"" attitude 8/8/2008

I arranged for this trash pick up service (Seaside Sanitation) when I was newly-arrived to the area because I didn't know any better. Was shocked to find that they arrive for pick-up between 4 and 5 in the morning with either rap or dance music blasting from the truck's cab, and leave the empty bins/lids in the street after careening away. And this is in an otherwise very quiet, family-oriented subdivision. ULTRA fussy about what they pick up and how it must tied up all dainty for them. Even then, when you package things just how they tell you to, you never know if they'll pick up all of your trash or not. It's a crap-shoot. My next door neighbor does business with their competitors, and as of today, so do I. The other company comes to our neighborhood at a decent hour, picks up everything without complaining, doesn't leave the bins in the street, and is not noisy. When you call Seaside Sanitation to complain, they really just don't care. I'm happy to have a choice. Long live the free market and freedom of choice for consumers! I just made mine! more

Fine by us... 1/22/2008

We have had Seaside for about a year and a half now. We live in rural Hernando county, and we have NEVER had a problem with missed pickups. The guys come early, and are quiet about it. Usually here and gone by 6-6:30am. Never had any items not picked up, nor have I ever been charged extra for large debris or multiple items. Only issue is occaisionally billing doesn't credit a payment that we made, but always gets fixed. Don't know what the rest of you did to these guys, but they have ALWAYS done a good job out here! Pros: Early pickups, nice job Cons: occaisional billing quirks (always fixed though) more

NOT RECOMMENDED 11/14/2007

I have had many days where they missed pick ups, or only took some garbage. Following their ""rules"", or ""standards"" doesn't help any. Customer service is quite rude, and dispatch fails to answer the phone or return your call. I personally do not recommend them. Now that I have service with another company, I really see the difference. Pros: NO PROS AT ALL Cons: IT'S SAD THAT YOU ACTUALLY HAVE TO PAY FOR THIS LACK OF SERVICE more

What a joke!! 10/21/2007

I have had nothing but problems with these folks. Where do I begin? Let's see,first they come around at 5:30 am on a saturday. Now for those of us that work all week and want to sleep in, to get an unwanted wake up call that early is agravating to say the least. Then, they drive around the block twice because they ""only pick up garbage on the right side of the truck for liability reasons"" (traffic, going on the opposite side of the street, weaving, etc.) what traffic? It's a residential side street at 5:30 am on a saturday! Pros: are you serious? Cons: After all this, they place my cans nicely at christmas time and expect a tip? HA ha ha more

Service that can't get much worse! 6/21/2007

Have had their residential service for three years now and it is terrible. Each month they miss at least one pick up, and it is rare that I have any success in getting them to come back out the next day to cover their mistake. As others have said, terrible customer service. The usual response I get to the missed pick-up is that the driver said the garbage wasn't there, even though I never call about a miss unless the garbage was out the night before. more

i have had seaside sanitation 4 years now ,they have always been polite when i have called them and they have done their best to help.today i called to say they had missed my collection they said they would be there in an hour to collect the trash it was about 10 minutes they were at the front of my house collecting the trash how is that for service . more

Bad customer service 5/9/2007

I had Seaside Sanitation for 7 yrs and put up with a lot of mess-ups by them. They are rude and they do hang up on you. The receptionist could care less about how unhappy you are, they lie to you and say they will pick up the next day. Why don't they just apologize for their screw-ups. Why lie, this just made me more angry with them, I have quit their service and they really do not even care. I hope they go out of business. more

Poor Customer Service 4/3/2007

I recently called Seaside Sanitation to complain about my $30 trash can being broken during pick-up. I didn't receive a call back until I threatened to cancel my service. At that point, I was promised a new trash can immediately. After two additional pick-ups and no new trash can, I called to cancel my service and I attempted to explain why I was doing so. The customer service rep didn't seem to care why I was calling, cancelled my service immediatly without any effort to resolve the situation, and promptly hung up. Good service in Hernando County 2/11/2007

I have been a customer in Hernando county for over 3 years and have had no problems with my pick up. They always pick up on the day scheduled and have even picked up extra items on occasions. I have also needed the ""extra"" service for big items or lawn debris and have had a very positive experience with that also. I have called at busy times and have had to wait, but at my job we get busy at times and people have to wait. Slow down...breath in...breath out...this is life. Service operators have always been polite and friendly. more

Poor Service 2/6/2007

Have to call at least once a month because they forgot to pick up trash. One day they forgot the whole street. Had to make numerous calls to remind them to pick up my blue bags. Customer service is nothing but leaving a message and never getting a response. We need more choices in garbage service. Pros: Early morning pick up. Pickup service 10/12/2005

I have had problems for 6 years with pickup. They either don't take anything or they'll take 2 bags and leave the rest. I have called and complained, as have my neighbors, to no avail. We pay for this service, and receive only partial service. They won't come down the street if a car is parked on it. Now the tree branches are too low. I want my garbage picked up and I want to speak to someone who has control. I'm tired of talking to those at a local level who won't do anything. more
