Pleased with the appliances 8/17/2009

When we bought our house 18 years ago, we furnished it with all major appliances from the Sears outlet. My washing machine lasted about 16 years. I'm still using the dryer, and it's running great. The dishwasher, glass top range and microwave hood are still all great as well. My fridge just started making weird noises this morning. I think that's a pretty good track record after 18 years. I was on this site just now looking to see if the outlet still exists in case my fridge does decide to die sometime soon! I never had a problem with the service at the outlet. The men that worked there were always pleasant and helpful loading everything we bought. When I was there last, the items they sold were still under regular warranty, so any repairs needed would have been done at no charge within the 90 days without the need to purchase an extended service contract. I'll definitely buy from there again. Pros: Great prices/great products more

Sears Appliance Center Mayfair Road Milwaukee 5/1/2008

Ok, I read the one review about this store and thought maybe it was a fluke.(Even though the guy bought 5 appliances at one time and not one worked.) So,,,, I was desperate to get a big refrigerator for a good price. My old one wasn't getting cold and it started getting dangerous as far as storing food. I bought a Maytag fridge at this outlet center yesterday and it doesn't work. It doesnt get cold ! So, yes buyer beware. I am glad I bought the service agreement at 150.00, probably the money I saved buying this fridge from a different place. Now I fear it will be endless problems for months. I called and made apt. for technician to come out. Oh, how I dread this.....Think, think, think...... Pros: you get what you pay for Cons: spend a little extra elsewhere and save yourself some grief more

BUYER BEWARE! Steer Clear! 8/24/2007

I bought 5 major appliances in February for a total cost of $3,500. Each one of the appliances needed service calls before they were even usable. Thank goodness I had purchased a maintenance agreement (at a tune of $800!) because they were definitely not in working order AT ALL when they were purchased, which should be illegal. They assured me they had been checked out, but apparently not! I was without hot water for over 3 weeks while waiting for a service call and the subsequent ordering of back ordered parts. I don't think the problem is with Sears appliances or with their service reps, just with getting appliances from the outlet store. The amt you save in cost is not anywhere near what the time and trouble are worth. I called customer relations to get some kind of satisfaction--""Sorry there's nothing we can do."" I'll never shop there again and would not encourage anyone I know to. Buyer Beware. Lesson learned. more
