If this hadn't happened to me, I wouldn't have believed it. I was having the carpets cleaned for my tenant, who was starting the move-in process, and I hired Sear Carpet Cleaning. As it turned out, they stopped halfway through the job -- no phone call, no explanation -- walked out, and left the door to my house wide open. Since the house was vacant at the time and I live out of town, the door sat open for a day and a half, until one of the neighbors called the sheriff. The sheriff came, guns drawn in case there was a "lurker" in the house, and secured the premises. I had left a realtor lockbox on the door so Sears could get in. When they abandoned the job, they also left the lockbox open, with the key just sitting there. Thankfully, the sheriff locked the door and put the key back in the lockbox. It was plain luck that there was no there was no vandalism or theft of the items the tenant had begun moving in.
When I arrived two days later on Saturday to check on the carpets, I had no idea any of this had happened. I was HORRIFIED to hear the story from a neighbor (the one who called the sheriff). I was livid when I called Sears to find out what happened, and they assured me a supervisor would call back. All I got was a voice mail late in the day on Monday -- no explanation, no apology -- and no one ever returned my call after that. If I can take legal action on this one, I will. I am absolutely shocked -- for the lack of concern for the security of my property, the safety of my new tenants, and the complete lack of integrity on the part of Sears.
Worst service I have ever had by any service provider.
