Very Dissapointed 2/26/2009

What drives me nuts is when a pub and restaurant gives itself an Irish name, serves Guinness and calls itself an Authentic Irish Pub. An Irish pub is more than a name and the beer it serves. As an Irish native I was expecting more than what I got. No Irish Stew or Chips or any other Irish dishes. Plus the dark Irish beers are served cold and not warm the way they should be. Sure the Pub is similar to those in Ireland as in the way its built but that the only good part. So if you want Authentic Irish food, try McGurks downtown or come to my house. more

Great food, excellent service 6/20/2007

A great dining experience. An extensive menue covering a simple salad/sanswich to a full dinner. Our waitress was attentive, the atmosphere as we expected an Irish Pub to be and the food great. This was our first time at Seamus and were not disappointed. Although we arrived for an early dinner we did notice that street parking was limited and night be a problem for weekends. Highly recommend !! Pros: location; easy to get to, extensive menue, good selection of draft beers, great service Cons: lomited street parking more

Good food at an affordable price 5/23/2007

Good service, great family ownership, good menu options, all around NEAT place. Looking forward to visiting the other location. Pros: Have fun, eat, drink & be merry! more

inconsistent 1/27/2007

The burgers are good. Everything else is average... especially the service. The wait staff always seems inexperienced and undertrained. The bartenders are slow and clueless. If you're not a regular at the bar, don't expect good service--especially if you are a woman. The general atmosphere is that of a dimly lit, country bar and grill. The decor is similar to what you would see at an Applebees. Sometimes carry-out is available, sometimes not. The staff and the owners need to take a refresher course on customer service. Pros: burgers, location Cons: service, parking, atmosphere, attitude, bar area more

Best Burger North of Fat Mo's in Nashville!! 12/9/2006

This is a terrific spot for casual burger dining! It's a super find for us when we're in St. Louis. We'll be back!!!! Pros: Great Food Cons: limited parking more

Good food but way overrated 10/10/2006

We tried Seamus McDaniels about five times now to try to see what the big hype is all about. We have disappointed every single time we have gone. We have consistently gotten our order messed up, one time when the waitress actually never put it into the kitchen, and we never got to eat. Pros: the bar is interesting in a historic type of way Cons: horrible service, bad kitchen, no good experiences more

Good day for Guinness 4/12/2006

What can I say, found this place on Citysearch for an outing I had yesterday. Weather was beautiful, so was my company, what could be better then great chesseburgers and perfect pints of Guinness. The burgers were HUGE, so be ready to split one or come hungry. Service was great and prompt. First time at this pub and would definately go back, outdoor dining was wonderful, but the inside looked to be a great atmosphere to drink/dine in! Loved the little history on Dogtown, never knew about this section of STL, but want to come back many times. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!!! Pros: Guinness, Burgers, Atmosphere more

Great little gem in Dogtown 1/11/2006

Best of both worlds! Great place for a beer and wings and a great place for a nice, hearty dinner! Anything from fried cheese, crinkle fries, hot wings, big Angus beef burgers, to fried and Grilled chicken! They also have great soup!! The salad dressings are all made fresh daily, ranch so thick you can stand a crinkle fry! Their house dressing so great as well as their honey mustard! Can you tell we are big fans?!?! We go there at least 2 times a month! Pros: great food, large portions, great prices Cons: some times it gets busy on Friday nights but the wait is not too long more

don't fill up on appetizers! 6/26/2005

Mushrooms, jalepeno poppers, cheese fries, TOO Much food when we went to order dinner, we ordered and then took it home. Recommend going hungry and living close for a nap! Awesome food, great staff, and excellent service. Parking is a pain, but normal for the area. Pros: outdoor seating, service, food, food, food! Cons: parking, noisy indoors more

Don't know what all the fuss is about... 5/15/2005

Everything in this place was average, including the ""famous"" burger.... Pros: location, serves beer Cons: average bar menu more

I was full... 6/11/2004

I went there the first time with a friend of mine who liked to eat as much as myself. We both left there completely full and very impressed. It did take a little longer to get the cheeeburger but it was absolutely HUGE! Plus, the place was packed so I didn't discount the service. They also serve Guinness beer at just the right temperature. Pros: food, very casual Cons: busy(is that a con?) more

shamfull mc crappy 12/16/2002

nasty greasy food. steak sandwich was full of grisle and fat Pros: cheap Cons: greasy food, fatty grislely steak more

Soccer Haven 8/8/2002

We do Seamus 10-20 times a year and most always on the tuesday nights before the Muny. Casual dress is not required but recommended. The wife and I split a chef's salad, which is THE BEST anywhere and then order a entree from the menu, which we also split. If you happen to have any interest in soccer you will enjoy the write ups and articles on the wall, particularly those dealing with the early '50 World Cup team. Pros: Value, Portions, Service Cons: Patio not heated/ac, Parking when crowd more

Dogtown Pub 7/13/2002

Seamus McDaniels is a nice place to eat outside on a summer night. Good variety of food and drink. Friendly service. All a nice price. more

Where's the beef? Here! 5/22/2002

Dined here before a baseball game ... the burgers are outstanding! Juicy -- and filling. Everything was hot and freshly cooked. But the burger was so much that I couldn't eat more than a few fries. Spouse & I have decided that the next time we eat here, we'll get one burger & fries and split it -- there's that much food (and we're big eaters). Pros: reasonably priced, good value for the $, Served hot & fresh Cons: scarce parking more
