My first alteration experience with Barbara was satisfactory. My second however was disappointing with all but one item having to be redone. After waiting to hear from her (because once again she had misplaced my telephone number and had to call my husband) she then delivered them to my home (less than a mile away) and collected payment. A few weeks later when I went to wear my top I was sorely dismayed to find it puckered where the tacking had been done, and so decided I better check everything else right away. My jeans that needed shortening, upon close examination showed that the stitching was already coming out. My cabbage rose skirt was taken in nicely. However, the final disappointment was the worst -- My Japanese Kimono that I purchased while we were stationed overseas was not wearable. The inside ties that I had asked for were not level, one was sewn in about 3 inches higher that the other and they were of insufficient length to make a bow. Upon these discoveries I telephoned her and left a message on her answering machine and waited for a response. I didn't hear and didn't hear. I decided it was best to give her whatever time she felt she needed to feel comfortable in responding since this was an uncomfortable situation. After a ""few"" months I decided it was more than time to try to make contact once again. I got a hold of her, but she needed to call back. Once again I waited, but this time just a few days and then I called again. I got her answering machine and left a message. She called me back a short time later (after having to call my husband again for my number) and instead of being professional she took offense, became verbally aggressive and then hung-up on me. I could add more, but this has gone on more than long enough. SAD results.
