Scorpio's

Terrible tragedy, after the older couple running the place left the quality of service and the food has dipped to the lowest level. I brought my friends & family there after talking so highly of them. The sauce was terrible, the service was awful, the waitress preferred helping in the kitchen than servicing her customers. The food tasted old and I was so disappointed. My friend and family sure let me have it too. Needless to say that is the last time I will patronize Scorpios, I rather drive to Orange city then to eat at Scorpios. more

I love Scorpios. I am giving a review as a customer who has only used delivery & I order at least once a week. You cannot beat home-made pasta, bottom line. They actually bother to make their own pasta, that's saying something in today's world where people love to just heat & eat. If you like a thick crust pizza their Sicilian is delicious & has a buttery crust. Their lasagne is all home-made. I've eaten just about everything on their menu at this point and have ordered the family size portions for family when they visit us, and everyone raves. Yes, some of the prices are higher, but with Scorpios you get what you pay for. I've eaten at the local competition and there isn't a comparison. We order from them on a regular basis and we get our food quickly & politely every time. To be fair the only things I've ever found inconsistent are their Patate Fritte (sometimes more browned than other times) and their Chicken Picatta (sometimes the chicken is dry & tough). Overall though, there isn't any comparison to the other pizza shops & Italian eateries in Deltona. If you're from the upper East Coast area (NY, NJ, PA, MA) you will really appreciate this place for its food. It's authentic. more

If you eat here, you have a 50/50 chance of the food being either great or downright terrible, since there's no middle of the road with this restaurant. With that being said, the owner is an absolute you-know-what to his customers and is known to be nasty to people on a regular basis. I would sooner throw my money down the toilet than give it to him! more

Scorpios used to be a favorite restaurant, but it has significantly declined in both quality and service over time. We decided to give them another chance today, and were sooooo disappointed. The pasta was mushy, the sauce tasted like the cheap bottled stuff, and the portions (especially for the price--which keeps going up) were meager. Do yourself a favor and cross the road to try out Rosie's where the food is much more consistent and the portions for the price will never leave you disappointed! more

I would give this business no star if I had the choice. 1 star is way too much. Vinny the owner is disrespectful, ungrateful, and dishonest. Advertised one price outside his restaurant, but wanted to bill a different price. When questioned, he got defensive. When we told him we wouldn't be back again, he said he didn't need our business. Way to go Vinny. His employees ""female waitress"" apologized to us for his behavior. Will never ever be back. Go across the state from the plaza, the pizzeria is much better. I agree with the previous review: ""I love NY pizza"" off of Elckam is awesome. I guarantee you you will be happy with everyone including the owner. more

Went with the family for dinner. First time and last time. After being treated like I was some kind of trash by the owner and was told that he didn't need my money because he has been in business for 10 yrs and he didn't need me. Paid for my drinks witch we never even took a sip of and paid our bill. The owner charged us over $8 for 4 soda's. He then asked if I was going to tip the waitress I said no and he replied that I was cheap. I told him to pay her the tip because he was the reason we were leaving. Good job Vinny you as the owner showed your staff what great customer service is all about. Our total time in the reaturant was less tand 10 min. Please don't take a chance on this place. I would recommend ""I Love NY Pizza"" on Elkam. more

I would recommend this restaurant for take out but if you like customer service this isn't the place for you. My waitress decided it was more important to talk to her non-paying friend rather than her paying customers. I reportrd her behavior to a manager and the waitress confronted me about her service in a very rude and unprofessional manner. more

We've been eating there for a while before they moved. I'm an immigrant Italian and know what the food should taste like. Athough, I'm Sicilian; the Northern food is very good, especially for Deltona. We've gone there many times and have been pleased with the food. \r We ate there today SUN around 1:00 and the service was the worst we've ever experienced. These waitress are very slow and unattentive. We had to ask for silverware, plates, bread, and about everything. We were there about an hour longer than we should have been and were annoyed when the waitress asked us for the money (how tacky). The canollis were very runny and unfortunate. I suppose the best time to eat there is when the owners are present and perhaps the service will match up to the food. I would have rated this place higher but the service is usually bad. Maybe we'll not eat in and take out more often. The food is good though!!! Pros: The authentic sauce & home made pasta Cons: The waitresses are not good. more

I visited this resturaunt on a whim and found it to be the most excellent food with outstanding service. There are some resturaunts you pay 300 dollars a plate and yet the service is distasteful. With this resturaunt I found the Eggplant parmisean to die for and my glass was always filled to the brim. I love the sides such as a leafy garden salad and delicious garlic bread. I will visit this place countless time and being the pasta lover I am, I advise anyone else to go there and enjoy the Italian cuisine. Pros: Wonderful Food, Excellent Service, Nice Atmosphere! I guess this place caters to non-Italian locals. The two pasta choices are capellini (angelhair) and linguine - no spaghetti or pene, the two most popular pasta types in Italy (angelhair is mainly used in soups in Italy!)\r \r After discarding their pasta choices as an option I inquired about their sausage and pepper sub. Ooops. They slice up their sausage. So much for authenticity. Another dish I had to pass. I figured they could not mess up calamari or caprese,so I ordered both. The calamari was tasteless and the marinara served with it was bland. The caprese had promise, but lacked the dribble of quality, extra virgin olive oil that is the hallmark of an excellent caprese. Instead it came with some brown ... sauce? ... that ruined it.\r \r The owners are supposed to be from Italy. I am fairly certain they would not eat anything off the menu. Thus far, it you want authentic Italian food in Deltona the closest you are going to get to it is Vinny's on Elkcam Blvd. I put Scorpios in the same league with Olive Garden, which is a place no true Italian would patronize. Sorry, just a colossal disappointment, and especially so since the owners are from Italy.\r \r On the plus side, the service was excellent. My server was friendly, well informed and fast. Being new to the area, we were looking for a good Italian restaurant. Our daughter recommended Scorpio's. Needless to say, we have found the BEST of the BEST in Italian Restaurants. On each visit we are greeted by a member of the family - Mama or Papa Scorpio. Vinnie, himself, makes it a point to visit the dining room whenever the kitchen can spare him for a moment. The food is wonderful, the pizza fantastic especially the white version. All in all this is the BEST of the BEST, bar none!!! more

Scorpio's offers a white pizza, The Bianca , it's the best white pizza ever! The garlic bread is awesome and their stromboli's are huge at an awesome price. It's the best pizza deal I've found in my area. Pros: Great food, Great price, Great service Cons: not to eat in more

I eat at Scorpio's at least once per week. The food is all made from scratch and excellent. The croutons are the best I've ever had and the garlic bread is just awesome. The homemade Italian sausage is worth the trip but while you're there, try a little of everything. You won'd be disappointed. Pros: homemade, excellent, worth the trip more
