He will give you a complete list of what your car needs and keep it on record so you can gradually get it all done. This is a man who knows Porsche and knows how to make them run the way God and German engineers intended. Take your car to him without hesitation. more

Jack is super when it comes to diagnostics. He oversees the work being done and knows the cars from top to bottom. I keep coming back because of this. I really appreciate his customer service. I have recommended his shop to all that ask when they see me in my Porsche and ask where I get my car repaired. more

Scientific finished the work sooner than expected, and at a reasonable price. I would only suggest double-checking the finishing work before releasing the car. A couple of things were over-looked at the end (oil, loose air intake hose). I would definitely return for service! more

My Porsche is a 2004 with an extended warranty. I wanted someone I could trust to take care of my car. Jack is wonderful, takes good care of it, great prices and is proactive in its care, always cautioning me about maintenance I may be needing. I have been using Scientific Automotive for maybe 35 years, before Jack owned it. When my dad had Porsches we would go there for service. I have been using Jack for my own cars probably since 1984, when I had a Porsche 911. There have been times when I didn't use him because I had cars he doesn't work on. Jack works on my current car, a BMW, which I have had for 6 or 7 years. Jack is a good troubleshooter. He will not sell you stuff you don't need. He might say that we need to keep an eye on it, but that it is not necessary immediately. The dealer wants you to fix everything immediately, but Jack is more practical and pragmatic. He assess your pocketbook, not just the car, and helps you make decisions based on that. There might be shops cheaper than Scientific Automotive, but Jack does everything on the up and up. Especially compared to the dealer, he is really good. I recommend him all the time. more

I hate to give all fives, but that's how I feel right now. Their service is good, they don't overcharge, their skill level is high, they actually listen to customers. There's an openness, they're always accommodating, and they seem honest and actually helpful to customers. They also have a certain ambiance. I took my first Porsche to Scientific Motors years ago before Jack owned it and then went some place else. I took my car to a dealer, and I always felt like I was getting overcharged and there were some things they couldn't do, so I decided to come back to Scientific. I've now taken three Porsches to them. My current one is an '86, so their job is to keep me running safely, because I don't ever want another car. They do this. Scientific is local, they're willing to drive me, and when I get my car back, it's always glistening and clean. I have friends who restore Porsches, and they go there with me and think the service is excellent. The staff at Scientific is professional in both their skill and demeanor. I was going to get something recently, and I had a quote, and I asked Jack, "Can you beat this price?" He said, "No, I can't," and he advised me to go some place else. They're not overly aggressive in their sales approach. I feel like I can depend on them to keep my car running and do it honestly. more

I've been going to SA for about 20 years and have never been disappointed with the service or work. Prior to going to SA, I went to another servicer who consistently mis-diagnosed problems and told me "that's the way it is with these cars." One stop at SA and they fixed all the nagging problem, at what I considered to be very reasonable rates. I was sold after that. more

Scientific Automotive has strong expertise in the vehicles that they service. In particular, Jack's customer service is very good. One aspect that I appreciate is their trustworthiness and the ability to depend on them. I have been going to Scientific Automotive for 20 years, since before Jack even owned it. He has serviced 4 different Porsches now. I always say that they will definitely treat you better, and service the vehicles better, than the dealership. more

I moved from the desert in October 2009 and initially took my BMW to a dealership to have a battery recharged. I found it not to be competitively priced, so I looked at the Internet, at a number of independent BMW service locations. I saw a number of good reviews for Scientific Automotive. If I don't see all positive reviews, I won't go to a place. I have two 10-year-old BMWs. I had a lot of work done on a 2000 740 iL and a 2000 Z3. On the 740, they replaced the engine mounts, the gaskets, the belts, filters and things of that nature, as well as spark plugs which had never been replaced. On the Z3, they did the same kinds of things, plus one turn signal side marker was cracked, nothing major but it all adds up. Having lived in the desert for five years takes its toll. My only frustration was that the receipt doesn't detail the work done. I couldn't look at the receipts now and tell what all was done. Also, the prices were a tad on the high side but nowhere near as bad as another place. more

Scientific Automotive is meticulous. Jack really takes care of his customers. When you care about your car as much as some of us do, you want someone who cares about cars too. Jack takes care of the cars like they are his own. The garage is so clean it could be a restaurant. There is absolutely no dust or dirt; everything is perfectly organized. I have been extremely please with the service I have received feeling it has been honest, quality work with accurate estimates in advance. I have been very happy with Scientific Automotive. I was using them before Jack became the owner and have continued to use them because he has done a good job. If someone proves himself and is interested in the customer being happy, you stick with them. Scientific Automotive has done everything from tune-ups to brakes to transmission work for me.
