If you are serious about learning poker, then sign up! 1/10/2011

I took the profitable no limit hold em class. I like many was someone who occasionally played poker with friends but probably didn't understand the fundamentals including value of hole cards, position, body language and understanding odds. This course was a great basis for all of these things and my confidence and skills have dramatically improved. Having a live instructor who is knowledgeable is a must and is a difference maker to those that have only played with friends and/or read books. Looking forward to the next course. more

Great Experience! 12/25/2010

Went to a class hosted by School of Cards with a few girl friends that we purchased together on Dealist. We had so much fun learning to play together and our instructor was patient with us and kept the lesson at a good pace so we could all stay involved. We loved it and are looking forward to taking another class together at the actual school now. I'm hooked! more

Great place to become a good poker player! 11/27/2010

Took the Profitable No Limit Hold Em class. This class is great. The instructor is friendly and knowledgeable and each class was enjoyable in itself with lots of playing. Everything taught had solid reasoning behind it and were always accompanied by general guidelines to help if you can't do all the math quick enough in the middle of a hand. I was welcomed back to free refresher classes and the instructor is very open to hand analysis discussions over email after the class is done. I went from slowly losing my money at low stakes on both online poker and live games to winning consistently after taking the class. In less than two months after taking the class, I have paid for it twice over in winnings. Obviously worth it! more

Profitable indeed. 11/8/2010

I was in first batch of classes held for profitable no limit hold'em. The class is appropriately named: ""profitable"". It's been a month since I took the classes and there has been a significant improvement in my game. I have been performing well at the low limit games online and should also mention that I have more than recovered the money I spent on the classes by playing online over the past month. On hindsight, I think my most important take away from this class was that it instilled a thought-process during betting which has proven to be very useful. (If I lose, I can usually pin down the mistakes I made, other than bad-beats which, as Blake would tell you, are a part of the game) more

Spend money on this class b4 you lose it in vegas anyway 9/25/2010

You have to do this, I have been playing poker with a bunch of guys every now and then just for fun-but they just wont give out their techniques or bluff skills. Being the only chick at the table I hate having to try twice as hard to catch up to people who have the real time vegas experience. Believe it or not-house of cards is like sitting at a table full of professionals who are giving out advice for free ( they might as well just toss you a bunch of their chips without even requiring you to show your hand). NOW I know what's going on in their heads-and it wasn't because they told me. Nope - school of cards did. The instructor is a pretty cool laid back guy who seems like poker comes as easy to him as breathing, and the dealer makes the experience as vegas like as possible without all the showgirls. This was a lot of fun. The only thing missing was fun background music and food. more

Crazy fun and you WILL learn how to play poker. 9/22/2010

This was ridiculously fun. The instructor teaches in a way that is logical so you grasp how to play before you leave. He is a character with a pretty interesting and diverse background which makes for great stories and in the know tips on everything from poker etiquette to improving your game over time. The space is nice and comfortable. Bonus, all you can drink mini bar. We had a small group, about 8, which I recommend for the first go around. Eventually I want to play in a tournament. I signed up using a coupon from Living Social BUT I would have paid full price for the class. It's kind of like an entry fee into a club. The school keeps in touch ans offers fresher courses and hosts game nights. Blake, the instructor, is super personable and interested in making sure everyone comes away learning the game. I would recommend this for anyone that's every wanted to play or is looking for something different to do. I had no knowledge of the game before playing and feel pretty confident now. more

A fun tiime and I learned a lot too! Poker is the Game! 9/13/2010

I didn't know what to expect but it was a fun nite and interesting. more
