They only take cash. Their original smoked ham/w bone is dreadful lacking taste. When you buy strip steaks where they are priced at approx, $23 each(1 1/2 inch thick) and they are not Kobe Beef or from Neiman Ranch, you know you are being jerked on. The sausages are not that distinctive in taste and certainly not in the gourmet arena. The breakfast sausage is so ordinary and bland that it is insulting. Their homemade/prepared foods are, again, ordinary and lack imagination and appropriate herbs/seasoning.
The kicker is the sales staff. Rude and more rude would be an understatement and I have been at their shop several times.Their pricepoint is greater than at Wholefoods prices but without the quality. I asked for a rack of lamb, Frenched, and was told that they really dont carry them as their customers are not into highend products and if ordered, they would be frozen at an unreal price...FROZEN. This place is not exceptional nor unique. Ive lived in San Francisco for most of my life and this market would not have survived.
The inside ATM is a slap in the customers face. They get a kick back from the ATM machine... This is not my idea of a high end meat market or a gourmet food emporium.
