Schaefer Autobody Centers

Mixed feeling from my friends and family members who have used Schaefer Autobody. I have had friends notice tape lines around stuff that should of been removed (said it was on estimate) and dirt in the paint and overall just poor quality (I saw a dent in my friends civic they fixed that looked like a hamburger patty!!) and this is from approx 5 people that were not pleased with their work. I have never used them but felt my review may help someone else, look around there are a lot of good shops out there that do what they're paid too - my gut feeling is schaefer isn't one of 'em. Honestly, I never thought I'd have need for a body shop until WHAM, my dear grandmother backed out of her garage straight into my car! I had no idea how to deal with insurance, repairs, anything. AAA recommended Shaefer as a preferred vendor so I called them. They got me in the very next day and determined that my car was not safe to drive (the side mirror broke off). He asked if I wanted to bring it back or if I wanted a rental right away - I didn't even know that was an option! Within minutes I was in a rental car and back to work. They called me almost every day to keep me updated on the progress, I definitely felt informed. Then, the very best part - when I went to pick up my car, they had completely cleaned and detailed the outside AND inside of my car - I was shocked!! I have a 4 year old and my backseat is a disaster. It was obvious that they cleaned the carpets and fabric seats and even threw away my garbage - I was so shocked I went back inside to give the girls a hug. I highly recommend Shaefer for any repair needs - they were so friendly, did excellent work and really did more than I expected. more
