Scatter Creek Animal Clinic

I recently had to put my kitty to sleep. She was with me for 16+ years so this was a sad, sad day for me. I was able to take her to Scatter Creek Animal Clinic. I don't normally write reviews but the way the staff and doctor took care of my Sweetie...and me was above and beyond! I felt surrounded by people who cared. They even sent me a Sympathy card signed by all the staff. So few places left anymore that extend such caring expressions and I very much appreciate it!!! more

Dr. Madden is HORRIBLE. I made an appointment for my dog and when I arrived was told she was running about 20 minutes behind. I waited 55 minutes before being seen for a total of a 5 minute lookover. She then proceeded to be verbally abusive, abrasive, and downright rude to me - she even went so far to say I was "pathetic" and was upset that my large dog didn't have a "man" to bark orders at him. Dr. Madden then charged me for a full office visit, despite being so late and unprofessional. I am a business professional myself and I would NEVER make a client wait 50 minutes, belittle them, and then charge them for my full "service." I will never go back to this clinic to see her again. That being said, I did have a good experience with the male vet there. It is so unfortunate he has such an unpleasant business partner who gives Scattercreek a bad name. more

Good: I was a long time client of Dr. Thomas until leaving the area. He is, without a doubt, the best vet I have ever had. The dogs, cats and very many goats received the highest quality care every visit. He saved some lives that I thought were lost and was incredibly wonderful when I had to put my dog down for medical reasons. He always answered my questions with honesty (often humor) and utmost respect. To this day I have not found his equal, and not for lack of trying!. Bad: Sometimes I did have to wait a while in his office, but actually that was okay because he never rushed with me either.. Improvements: Can't think of any. Other: If I ever move back to Washington I will make sure it's within driving distance of Dr. Randy Thomas.. more

They are always nice, very helpful. Great pricing. Excellent customer service. Very sincere, love animals. I've been thru a lot of vets in this area and out of state- never have I found a vet that I would recommend so highly as scattercreek. more

We have been taking our mastiffs to Scatter Creek for the last 4 yrs and have found them to be very helpful and understanding. What we really liked is that they do take a holistic approach to care. The previous negative post might have better off to do a little research and learned that a fat/overweight bitch is much tougher to spay than a bitch that is the proper weight. That was the reason for the "raw" diet suggestion. I highly recommend Scatter Creek Animal Clinic along with Dr. Sutherland and Dr. Thomas. more

We started at Scatter Creek when we moved to the area because of all the great reviews. We have a lab, a cattle dog, and a cat. All of our pets are well cared for when they go, and treated with respect. Dr. Thomas is great at letting me know what is going on at every stage of the exam. I've never had a vet show me the temp reading on a thermometer before! They're also really big in to preventative, overall health to reduce 'crisis care.' I adore this place, am glad that they have very reasonable prices, and would recommend them highly! more

Last fall, I scheduled a regular spay with Scatter Creek Animal Clinic in Rochester. It was all set up for me to go in, fill out some papers, drop off my dog, and pick her up the next day. What I encountered was a salesman, not a veterinarian, and certainly not a man I would trust with my animals health. He refused to do the surgery because he claimed my dog needed to be on a 'special' diet consisting of high priced raw meat, which of course, I could buy directly from him. (He made sure I had a whole list of available options without a guaranteed price). I guess meat changes prices like oil? He said that my dog needed to lose 5 lbs on this special meat diet, that he insisted I needed to salt the meat with organic sea salt! He then, charged me $35 for his sales pitch. Obviously, I found another vet. If you are vet searching, Ford's Prairie on Old 99 closer to Centralia is ok. They aren't the best, but compared to Scatter Creek... I'll take Ford's any day. For serious pet issues and trauma, I Highly Recommend the Tacoma Animal Hospital on 56th. Great Care! Great Surgeons! Avoid Scatter Creek! more
