Saybrook Fish House (460 Albany Tpke, Canton, CT) is FANTASTIC!!! Highly recommend it if you're looking for amazing food, wonderful waitstaff, and excellent prices! The atmosphere is comfortable and friendly, a great place to eat!! No longer will we be traveling to those other places down by the shore--the food here is MUCH better, and the service is beyond compare! My new favorite place!!! more

Awesome dinner 3/23/2011

We had dinner Sat night. Crowded but service was excellent. Wait staff was polite, did not rush us, but was attentive and pleasant. Also, we had several appetizers, wanted the lg salad, yes they still have that famous delicious salad. Fish was fresh, escargot, delicious...everything great can't wait to return! more

Where has the value gone? 8/2/2010

Beware SFH fans of yesteryear! What used to be a great family value is no longer. We dined there this evening and will not be back. Gone are the early bird specials, bottomless bowls of salad/bread and the dessert fruit basket. Especially irrational is the "Salad for Two" that is brought to the table even if yours is a party of three. When asked to bring us more, the server's response was as customer un-friendly as it gets. Feeding salad to the third person will cost an extra $6 on your tab. . Blame the economy? The server did. BTW, the owner had to be summoned to find our waitress who had forgotten we were there! We predict SFH is not long for the restaurant world. Too bad. It used to be so good. Pros: Variety of meal options Cons: What used to bring in the customers has been eliminated more

Horrible service! 3/2/2010

Ok this place is bad, first like many other people have said this place is slow! It took us two hours from begining to end! The watress spilled water in my lap the first time and then drooped a plate on my sholder which got food onto me! It took them 45 min to make me one chese burger which tasted horible and was overcooked! So basicly ruined my day! I realized it's as flawed of a resturant as everyone says! It should be renamed SAYBROOK SCAM HOUSE!!! Not impresed at all! Don't go there! Bad!!!!! more

Excellent Family Restaurant 3/5/2008

My family and I go to the Saybrook Fish House at least four times a year. I always get the shrimp. My husband gets the crabs legs. \r Our children enjoy the restaurant because they can draw on the paper tablecloth while they wait for our dinner to arrive. They bring warm bread and a family style salad 1st. At the end of the meal a bowl of fresh fruit and nuts comes, but we always bring that home. The portions are so large we never have any room for dessert. more

Fishy 2/2/2008

A fun place to go with family. They give you a brown paper table cloth and crayons and you can go nuts writing all over the table. Kids love it! The food is good not anything special but fun. For desert you get a fruit basket and you take it with you if want. more
