Best

Always get the shrimp pad thai and it never fails to be awesome. Fast service for carry out, and nice decor for dining in. A must visit if you love Thai food.

Worst

I have been to this place over 60 times ever since it has been open. It was good. I don't know what happened, but I think the management is worse. I called in and ordered carry o...

Best thai in town! 9/1/2007

Large vegetarian/vegan selection, excellent service, and a neat artsy atmosphere. The weekends usually require a wait, but it's always worth it. more

Best Thai in NC 6/20/2007

This is the best Thai food I've had in the state of NC. First of all, the staff is very polite and will make sure you have everything you need and that you're satisfied. Also, the food is delicious. It's fresh and very tasty. It can be made mild or spicy for those of us who love kick! It's a small place, so not good for groups. It can be a nice place for a date, however. It's hard to find - it's on Capital Blvd. across from Chucky Cheese. Pros: Very good thai food. Good service. Cons: Hard to find. Small. Can be pricey. more

I love it. 4/25/2007

I drive pass many Thai restaurants to Sawasdee. It's on Capital and Old Buffalo near Chuck E Cheese. I love it. Pros: Cozy more

Nice service but overpriced 4/4/2007

This place is cozy with good staffs. However, we were expecting more reasonable price for Thai food. Pros: Nice staffs Cons: Price more

Great Experience 2/26/2007

The Pad Prik Kra Paw was wonderful. The staff was very helful. The entire experience was a delight. I can not wait to go back soon. Lunch is between 1130 and 2 pm and they are open late until 9PM. more

Wonderful dining experience 2/18/2007

We selected this restaurant because of the high customer reviews and high Health Dept. scores. Excellent, excellent food; can't say enough about it. Very patient servers who explained what the dishes were. My husband and I are not adventurous eaters the first time out; we both had Pad Thai. It was fantastic, very fresh tasting, a ton of chicken in it, and very high quality chicken, no fat, gristle, etc. Large portions. I can't remember what my daughter had, she is more adventurous, but it was delicious. We will definitely return again soon and order other dishes, even though it's an hour drive. Really liked the decor, too. Pros: Delicious food, patient servers, fun decor more

Sooooooooo good! 2/11/2007

My boyfriend and I had the most amazing dinner here. The service was some of the best I have ever had. The waitress was so patient with our questions. My boyfriend likes really spicy food but can never find anyone to make it spicy enough. He requested spicy here and had to stop to wipe his eyes during dinner. I asked for mine regular and it was just perfect. Please give this place a try. Fantastic!!!!!!!! Pros: Food, service Cons: that I don't live closer to the restaurant more

I LOVE this place!! 8/26/2006

Having been to other Thai restaurants in the area and being disappointed time and time again, the food at Sawasdee was a refreshing change. The restaurant is small and intimate and the service great. What can I say other than ""I love this place!!"" Pros: The food, service, and atmosphere Cons: The price is a little higher than I'm used to, but considering that no other restaurant around can compare . . . more

Wonderful Date Night Food 8/11/2006

My husband and I ate here on our ""date night"" having read the rave reviews. We were impressed with the smiling service and delectable food. Everything tasted fresh and our stomachs were full. We also enjoyed their coconut rice desert. Pros: flavor and freshness Cons: Pricier than expected, having read other reviews more

Service and food is very good. 7/21/2006

I drive (18 miles one way) past many Thai places to eat here at least twice a week. It is always consistant. more

Great food and ambience! 6/18/2006

Sawasdee is no doubt the best Thai restaurant in the Triangle. I have tried almost every dish on the menu and everything tastes fantastic. The place is small but I never have to wait for longer than 5 minutes even on the Friday nights. Try it and you will keep coming back! more

High quality ingredients 6/16/2006

I love their Jasmine Rice that is the best quality of rice in the world market. I feel like no other Thai restaurants in Triangle dare to let customers try Jasmine rice because they want to keep the cost down. Unfortunately, I love something premium. Also, The rice is lively molded as a Teddy Bear/Star/Butterfly and some other cute shapes. What a rice that is high quality and animated? It is rice at Sawasdee. \r About the food, it's always tasty and they put all best ingredients in the market that you can find. Pad Thai with Tamarine sauce and Cashew chicken with lot of cashew. It would cost more to make own Thai food for me because the lot of seasonings needed to make just one dish. Pros: Lively Molded Rice more

Do they have Mango Sticky Rice? 6/15/2006

I never have mango sticky rice since I moved from California. I enjoyed their food and have 2 orders of mango sticky rice. Pros: Cozy more

Best drunken noodles 6/13/2006

Sawasdee offers the best drunken noodles in town. It is very different from drunken noodles served at other restaurants. I really love it. It's the way you have always wished it would taste. Pros: good food, fast service Cons: small more

Gouy Tiew Pad Krapow Chicken 6/13/2006

I think my favourite dish is the hardest dish to pronounce in their menu. Eventhough I visited there and always order this item, I still cannot pronounce it. Pros: Hard to pronounce dish (have fun) more

Love you more than I can say. 6/13/2006

I live in Cary but always drive to North Raleigh for Sawasdee. The curry is really good and not water down. The Drunken noodle is excellent. In addition, I like their dessert the Mango with Sticky Rice. Pros: Have Mango Sticky Rice more

De Javu 6/9/2006

I traveled to Thailand last 3 months and tried lot of Thai food there. After coming back to Raleigh, I tried to find the feeling tasting divine food as I heavenly tasted it in Thailand. Eventually, Sawasdee is my solution. I really love Spicy Catfish, Tom Kha Chicken, Pad Thai Chicken, and Drunken Noodle Chicken. It's all I can remember eventhough there are more delicious plates than my explanation. Thanks the restaurant bringing back my positive De Javu having ambrosial food in Thailand. Pros: Best Thai taste in Raleigh Cons: The harder finding the restaurant, the greater satisfaction you would get more

As good as Usual 6/8/2006

The best Thai in Raleigh. I like to have Jasmine Rice with my Thai food then Only Sawasdee offers this quality. They use the best ingredients to cook for me every time I visited. Pros: Best ingredients for cooking used Cons: Hard to see driving passing by Capitol Blvd. more

best Thai in town 7/31/2005

If you like Thai food, you'll love Sawasdee. It's a bit on the expensive side, but well worth it. more

We'll be going back 6/16/2005

Went for dinner with a party of 4, 3 of whom were vegetarian. We all LOVED our meals. The atmosphere is way cute and fun. It is small; we didn't have any trouble but I can imagine if your timing isn't just right you might have to wait (there are probably 7? tables). They were very accomodating with increasing the spiciness, too. Very friendly but not at all overbearing waitstaff - important in a small space! Not incredibly cheap, but definitely a good value. Less expensive than some other places, definitely... Pros: vegetarian-friendly Cons: tricky to find! more
