Very good experience 4/26/2010

I recently visited relatives in Rome and went to the Savoy for the first time. The service was very good and the food was excellent. It is self-consciously high ending dining. The atmosphere is relaxed - college pennants on the walls and photos of local characters. (I may be wrong, but I did not see a pennant for University of Buffalo). The food is very well prepared and better than one could produce at home. Rome and most places in up-state NY do not lend themselves to elaborate rituals and presentation. Exceptional food is more important. I found the Savoy to be a very pleasant surprise. more

Romantic Throw Back 3/23/2006

The ambiance of The Savoy is spectacular. High booth seating, live music playing, candles. Very romantic. Perfect for a first date, or an anniversary. We went on our anniversary. They placed candles on our table, a glass of wine and a song was played in our honor. The food was absolutely delicious and timing was perfect. We never felt rushed. The dining area where we sat is small and cozy, my preference to the larger dining area. Make reservations on weekends, they do get busy. more

The quintessential Italian restaurant and a jewel among local businesses--the Savoy is a throwback to an earlier day with long meals, delicious wine, accompanying live music--an entire experience! The Savoy offers a range of delicious food, particularly Italian (pasta accompanies any menu choice!) as well as a selection of homemade desserts. A great choice when you have time to really linger over and appreciate a meal! Parking is plentiful on the side of the restaurant and the staff is particularly friendly! more
