Sav-Mart Sales & Svc

I purchased a Fisher & Paykel w & d about 10 years ago. Never had an ounce of trouble till 2 days ago when the washer decided to overflow. Called Sav-Mart svc dept yesterday, service man was out today, called & gave me option of $375 in parts & labor or NOT. He is going to leave a coupon for half off the svc call to purchase new one from them. Always had great service from Sav-Mart and will continue to purchase from them whenever possible. more

we bought a fischer paykel dryer from Sav-Mart 3.1 years ago - we were really strongly directed to it by Sav-Marts salesman. It has been a real lemon - had 3 breakdowns, including the last which was a catastrophe - no amount of cleaning could keep lint from building up inside the unit and some of its wiring lit on fire. This was a known defect as we called Fischer Paykel in New Zealand about it. This was one month after the unit's warranty expired. We think Sav Mart should have fixed the unit or replaced it but got nowhere with them. Just out of curiosity, as we were not going to pay the $250 repair anyway, we took it apart - there were a whole bunch of parts that had shaken off and were on the floor, lots of lint inside the unit, burnt wires, and broken connectors. What a piece of garbage. Our biggest disappointment was that SavMart, a business that we have shown a lot of loyalty to over the years, really was non-responsive. We're getting a new dryer today at a box store, Costco or one of the Home Improvement stores. Why pay extra at SavMart when they won't go to bat for you with their vendors? I'll never buy another Fisher Paykel product either - most of the parts were brittle plastic that just couldn't go the distance with daily use. more

Sav-Mart is a multi-service retail store with everything from sporting goods to furniture. They offer large and small appliances, garden equipment and a garden center. There is an excellent service department for all home appliances they sell, making it easy to keep a household running smoothly. It is nice dealing with someone locally who is authorized to service all products they sell. The sales people are warm and inviting and the service is good. more
