We thoroughly enjoyed our Valentine dinner last night at Satellite Bistro. The food was fabulous (LOVED the shrimp bisque, filet, and brussel sprouts!). All for a great price too! The service was wonderful despite it being a busy night. We will definitely be going back soon! more

I couldn't decide what to order when I sat down for breakfast this past weekend . I decided on the traditionaI eggs benedict, which were cooked perfectly and the scalloped potatoes are delicious! I have eaten here before and am always impressed by my meal. The service is great too! The trip way south is worth it! more

Delicious! 9/22/2008

To those who previously had a bad experience, give this neighborhood gem another chance! When I went there on opening week, I was disappointed, but now that they've been around a while, they are stellar! I have never been disappointed since that first week. The scallops are cooked to perfection, tender and delicious. The salmon is incredible, always cooked perfectly. The service is very friendly and most of the time, the food comes quickly. Occasionally on a Friday night, you might get most of the way through your first glass of wine before the food comes, but what the heck, it's Friday night! You deserve a second glass! My girlfriends and I have become regulars at this fabulous restaurant. more

Katie was our server and she treated us like royalty. The attomsphere was great, the food was even better. I will definately return. I recomend the bread pudding. Pros: Service and food Cons: Wine is expensive more

Best Happy Hour! 6/1/2007

The food was amazing! The service was even better! They have a great patio with coaches by the fireplace where you can enjoy $2 margritas, $2 wells, $2 drafts, $2 martini's and half priced apps. How can you make money off that. The bartenders are the coolest in the bussiness. I had their flaming cheese app that was to die for. The only draw back, they close at 10. Pros: Great Happy Hour more

When they first opened, the food and service was excellent! My husband and I were so excited to have such a great place nearby. The last three times we went the service was terrible and the food even worse. The breakfast there is awful as the food is always cold. Last time I had to wait 35 mins for potatoes and about 25 mins for the omelette maker to come back. The ribs used to be my favorite dish there and the last time I had it they were literally as hard as a rock. We got an apology and a dessert offer but it wasn't enough as all three in our party who ordered the ribs had burned, dried ribs. I strongly discourage anyone from going. Maybe if enough people complain, the management might make an effort to get back on track. Otherwise, don't waste your time. Pros: Outside Patio Cons: Service, Food more

Extremely slow service 4/27/2007

Overall the food is good, but the service was very slow. We were there for 1hr 45 min total arriving at 8am with the restaurant not being full, sat on the patio and took 10+min for someone to greet us. Other tables were sat after us who had drinks and orders taken. We waited forever for our entree and I had put a to go order in when we placed the order which was brought out much later after we finished our meal and was the wrong entree. I let her know and she apologized and took the order back and when she finally brought out the second to go order it was not correct. She apologized and went back to get the side order and came back to the table again and said they had run out. I was surprised that nothing was taken off the bill or that we were not at least offered a free dessert due to the service and slow wait time. I may try one more time, but there are tons of other great restaurants in Austin that take care of their customers. Pros: food Cons: slow service and mistakes more

The food is excellent, the wait is too long and the waiters are a bit pretentious looking, but not acting. 11/20/2006

The gyro is amazing and the jalapeno chicken is wonderful. The portions leave you feeling satisfied, but not stuffed. The Satellite Star dessert is highly recommended to finish off the meal. The restaurant is quaint, but too small considering some nights the wait is an hour and half. Also, if the restaurant has people waiting for a table and there are several tables available, they won't seat you because they want the waiters to catch up. I think they should seat you and serve you drinks and just let you know the food will be a few minutes or higher people who can handle such a small restaurant. Go before 6:00p.m. and you won't usually have a wait or trouble getting a table. more
