BAD SERVICE, DIRTY FOOD PREPARATION/KITCHEN, check their water cups and cleaning methods. \r \r And they will force you to pay a tip for their crapy service. more

Long wait for service 11/4/2009

We usually go to this place once a month. This time is the worst in term of wait. Sit around for 10 mins no one takes our order. The place was filled with around 20 tables and only 4 people working on the floor. One staff doubled up as cashier and waitress while another one only pour water. We got fed up and left without ordering. This place is always busy but I don't have 3 hours for lunch. The owner is too stingy to hire more help. This place is not that good to warrant such long wait. Pros: food is decent Cons: owner is stingy in hiring more staff more

Quality Food & Good place for meeting 6/4/2008

It is a great food in this area, nice & comfortable place to sit. The food are above quality, even though cuisine has some confusing on the menu(Chinese & Malaysian). I like that place for meeting with my friend. Services are friendly, and reasonable price with high quality food. Overall, I am satisfied. Pros: Good Value more

PuPu Platter indeed... 1/30/2008

What a disgrace to the restaurant business. They should have some ""Huggies"" available because this place is a dump. My good friend Dave tried to warn be, but I didn't listen. The food consists of deplorable vegetable filler and Grade D- meat. The meal tastes like leftovers from the week before last. I don't know what dumpster they fished the mini-salad from but it must have been in the sun. The meals and the atmosphere made me feel like I was at the dinner table with the Indian people in the scene from Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. I should have just thrown my lunch in the toilet and eliminated the middle man. Pros: It will make you appreciate Taco Bell on their worst day... Cons: Mud Butt more

We are so disappointed! 1/19/2008

We had been eating in this restaurant for three years now. My wife and I have decided not to come back anymore as the food was so bad and nothing is in order in this restaurant. It used to be really good and the service was excellent years ago, and everything has changed now. When we asked our wait staff on what happened to the restaurant, the answer was "" The owner has given up on this restaurant!"". Well, either he is a terrible management guy or he really is giving up on the business. more

ATTENTION TO EVERYONE 6/15/2007

Today I went to eat at Satay House Restaurant. I ordered curry ayum and this was animal waste product in it! Oh, my god!It was so disgusting! I didn't say it to the restaurant waiters but I want everyone to know what I have experience! I am never going back there again! more

Terrible Experience 4/18/2007

On April 15, 2007, I went to Satay House Restaurant like always, but today I was terribly dissappointed. I orderd chicken satay, and had to wait 30 minutes. I noticed that the restaurant was not even packed or busy, but I still had to wait a long time to get my simplie appetizer. When it did come, it smelled burnt and tasted awful. When I come to a Thai restaurant, I was expecting some Thai flavors, but this Sunday it tasted like there were no Thai chefs in the kitchen. If I were to go to a Mexican restaurant, I expect a Mexican chef, and same thing with any other restaurants. I will probably not return to this restaurant again. I always come to this restaurant, but after Sunday's experience I was left with the impression that something has gone wrong in the kitchen. more

Terrible customer service!!!! 1/3/2007

I had ordered take out at this restaurant once and it took two and a half hours for the food to be delivered!!! Keep in mind that I work about 5 minutes drive from the restaurant and of course the food came in long after my lunch was over(even though I ordered at 11am to give it an hour to get there before I went for lunch). Why I decided to take a friend out for lunch here still remains a mystery....We got in and made the mistake of ordering an appetizer. The rude server lade asked if we wanted the appetier out first and of course we said yes.Mistake number 2!!! The coke we ordered was flat and when we got another server to try and get us another one, she could not speak a word in English so.....go figure. After 45 minutes the appetizer was not out yet and when the rude lady came by again, I asked her if she could just bring us the main course with the appetizer and thats when she got really crazy. She said that since we had ordered an appetizer, our food will not be ready.Apparently they place your food order after they bring out the appetizer!!!!Other tables around us has ordered entrees and had gotten their meals before our appetizer. So, after an hour and a half she waltzed out with our food and at this point I just asked for a to-go box, which took yet another 5 minutes and to run the card for the bill, yet another 5 minutes. and before we left she came and yelled at us, once again, that if we order appetizers, it will take that long before we even get the appetizers!!! Will I be going back there???Over my dead body. I would rather go get ripped off by a Panda at the Panda Express!!! Pros: You get a table as soon as you walk in Cons: Rude servers and why the hell would it take 45 minutes to get an appetizer out? more

Worst customer service - But food is good 10/10/2006

I did not belive about the poor service here at Saty house until we faced it. We had been there couple of times and the food is really great. Onetime, with my family had ordered the main course. Waitress serverd the rolls first. We thought that's the rolls along with the rice we had ordered for and We started having it. After sometime waitress realised that it was someother table's order and we agreed to pay for that. Trouble started when the onwer/ manager from the cash counter came to us and started yelling at us, asking how can you eat for which you have not ordered. She was talking loudly and shouting at us. People on other tables were looking at us as if we have done something wrong. We felt very embarassing. Pros: Good food. (Donno whats going on behind the scene I mean in the kitchen) Cons: Worst service, bad attitude with customers...Try to learn their language before you go there! more

i found the best place for dinner, the people is very nice and when i como to atlanta i always stop in this great place. Ask for shirps with mango Pros: inexpensive, GOOD FOOD, good service Cons: far, close at 9 more

great malaysian food and friendly service 11/29/2005

the tom yum soup was "" hot hot hot"" i order it with the 5 pepper spicy and i love it, i went to other restaurant before they only make it like a medium. My friends visit from out of town, we ordered Penang Char K??? Teow i can't spell it... , Beef rendang and a fish dish, all the food were gone because it was very very delicious. The waiter was very friendly and helpful and they can recomand what you can order if you didn't try malaysian food before. Pros: Good parking, friendly service, food more

Best Malaysian In Town! 11/23/2005

You can't find any Malaysian restaurant in town that serves Beef Rendang like Satay House! You just have to try it to believe it! Ask for Heng, the owner of Satay Hse, he will sure takes great care of you and your party! Trust me! more

Dont ever visit this place 10/6/2005

I had the worst experience in my life with this restaurant. We were 3 adults & a 2 year old. We ordered 4 roti canai(I like roti canai) and a pineapple fried rice. The waiter accepted our order. After 5 min he came back and said we have to order another entree because we r 4 people or we need to pay $3/plate if we share the fried rice. I have never heard about such rule before. We did not want to order more. So we left. When leaving I said you should put this ""RULE"" in the menu or on the door. The guy in the front desk said you guys must go to McDonalds if you want to eat cheap. This is ridiculous. We ordered more than $25 worth of food and we don't want to order more and waste it. Please never support this place Cons: Everything more

Poor Services 8/10/2005

Though the food quality is good, the waiter's service sucks. When we were served, it was like we owned them the money. When the waiter put down the dish in front of us, he had the dish misplaced. We told him that who is getting what. But it is like he is being deaf and just went ahead and left. more

Service problem 7/7/2005

Food at this restaurant is good , especially coconut soup. The restaurant manager and waiter have a problem with TIP.If you are short on cash or fail to provide tip upto their expectation they come and ask you to add more tip arrogantly and fail not to dishonor you n front of your friends or relatives. This is faced even by one of my colleague. I feel strongly that this restaurant should be closed. Pros: good parking Cons: low quantity, improper service more

More like thai food? chinese food? confused! 6/9/2005

I think this restaurant is confuse with its identity, chianese? thai? malaysian? Well bad food all the way more

Malaysian??? 11/10/2003

Maybe I went on an off night, but I have to disagree with the other reviewers here. My wife and I went here with very high hopes. We were frequent customers at Penang in Chamblee and were happy to find a ""Malaysian"" restaurant in Alpharetta once we moved here. We were both very disapointed with the glorified chinese food that was served. Not very authentic and not very good. The neon ""Free Delivery"" sign in front should have given it away. We live close but will not be back. I would rather drive to Penang. more

A little hidden treasure 1/18/2003

This place is by far the best Thai food in Atlanta. I have eaten at alot of the major Thai restaurants, and after trying the Satay House, I can't go anywhere else. The service is friendly and the food is definetely worth the value. I would recommend starting with the coconut soup (which no other Thai restaurant can compete with). Then the options are endless after that. I personally recommend the Pad Thai and Lad Na. All the dishes are huge and taste great. Pros: large portions, fast service more

One of best in town. 11/25/2002

Being in the service industry, I travel all over metro Atl., and I get to try many restaurants. Thai is one of my favorites, and Satay is top notch. more
