we LOVE santiagos so much! however; when we order carnitas, hot, with sour cream & cheese...please remeber to put the hot chili in them and cheese and sour cream!! especially when we are paying 1$ extra for each!! this is happening more & more to the point I had to call & complain...& whats up with the jaking up of the prices allthe time! we love it but come on! maybe to muh chatter with all the people behid the counter (counted 9 today) is the reason for not adding stuff? prices..getting to be to much! more

The green chile that is as hot as it is taste..... 12/27/2009

I have tried many of Denver's Mexican restaurants. This is by far the best, I mean THE BEST. You will not know what is good Mexican, till you try it. Everything on their menu is excellent and inexpensive. Just remember the hot green chile is HOT. Try half n half and save your taste buds or go for xtra hot and call 911(paramedics like it hot too).... Pros: Best breakfast burrito for 2 bucks Cons: no sitting take out only more

Best Burritos in Denver Green Chili 12/16/2008

If you want a good dinner ,snack, lunch ..stop at Santiago's . My favorite order is the half and half beef burrito. You can order the green chili inside or smothered. At $2.50 a pop it is a bargain . One burrito will fill you up and I am a big guy. Denver would not be the same without Santiago's . I do not agree with some of the reviews that are saying that the servers are unfriendly or the food is greasy or too hot. If you do not like it hot, order mild,or half and half. If you come in with an attitude you will get treated accordingly. I have never had a problem with their food or the employees there. They have always been friendly and smiling and look forward to going there everytime I have a craving for one of their burritos. Pros: The Food Cons: The Restaurant on Broadway is not big enough. I wish they had seating there. more

Greatest Southwestern Food Around!!!!!!!!!!! 10/16/2008

I went to a Santiago's in Eagle Point Oregon, not knowing anything about Santiago's and was very surprised to the autheniticity of the food! They serve sopapillas that you just do not see anymore! The green chile was something I have not had in a very long time, and coming from New Mexico I have looked for a good authentic place to eat, and have found it in Eagle Point Oregon! I was surprised to see that there are so many of these locations in Colorado, and not enough in Oregon! If you have not had a breakfast burrito from here, you have not had a breakfast burrito worth buying!!!!!! Keep it up, and don't change a thing!!!! Pros: Very clean restaurant!!! Friendly atmosphere! Cons: Not open on Sundays! more

Horrible customer service and very dirty. 9/17/2008

We have been to several locations, and they are all about the same. My husband and I were at the location on 180 W. 84th Ave, in Thornton last night. When we walked in I could tell it was dirty... there was a really unfresh body odor. I even suggested that we leave. Being tired and just wanting to eat and get on with it, we stayed. I ordered the chicken burrito with green chile.. half and half... when it came, it didn't look very good, I took a few bites and it had a strange taste and so I poked around a little and found a nice big beatle with a yellow belly and white sack... I have no idea what it really was but that the discription I can give. If anyone knows please advise...anyway, I showed the waiter and he immediatly took my plate and never came back to our table, I wasn't sure what to do and at this point my husband was grossed out and didn't really even eat his food... so we went up to the counter because the waiter wouldn't come back to our table. The people at the counter were rude and made us pay for my husbands un-eaten food and when I took her card and told her I was going to call someone about this situation she said ""go ahead"" really rudely and rolled her eyes and started speaking spanish to another guy. Anyway, never going there again~ and if I were you I wouldn't either! Pros: that I never have to eat there again Cons: It's repulsing more

tender meat, no heat 9/3/2008

Very very confused on the heat reputation of the green chile. This morning was my 5th or 6th visit to santiago's, and i always order it ""hot."" this morning i asked for ""the hottest you got."" there was simply no heat whatsoever. there never has been any heat. have they messed up my order every time, or is everyone insane? am i insane? what's going on???? Pros: consistent quality Cons: uninteresting menu overall more

Makes My Mouth Water 5/27/2008

I was a native of Denver until the past year when I moved to Riverside California. I miss the great taste of Santiago's Mexican Hamburger. The hot spicy smothered, mouth watering food to which I could only handle the half and half. The indian taco's were a two day meal, because they gave you so much. The Mexican food out here in California does not have any flare to it. HOT is what Santiago's offers. I haven't found a resturant that even compares to the firery taste of the chile. Anyone coming out to California to bring me some Indian Taco's. more

Greasy .. Bland and way too Salty 12/18/2007

I have seen the commercials lately touting that Santiagos has the Best Green Chili in Colorado, well in my opinion it was probably the worst I have ever tasted. I ordered the smothered Steak burrito and it was overpriced, extremely greasy, SALTY and in my opinion, not a good value for the price at all. I ordered the Mild Green chili and it was bland, and had no heat or flavor to it at all. more

a reason to move back to colorado 2/5/2007

Thinking of an order of Huevos Rancheros - brings tears to my eyes. I miss my Boulder Santiagos. I miss my daily breakfast burrito and my cheerful friends - who saved me on many a hungover day. I return to Colorado as often as possible - sure I miss the friends I left behind - but more commonly - I think of the the green chile....... more

Greasy mexican food...nothing good there! 1/22/2007

This is the worst chili in town! This food is just greasy and hot, there is no flavor. The chili just tastes like gravy with jalapenos in it. The rice was hard, the beans were greasy and the beef was watery! Yuck, and they have raised their prices since the last time I was there. I don't recommend this food, unless you want to get Monctezuma's revenge! more

Best Green Chile in Denver Area 8/7/2006

The best thing about Santiagos is the green chile. Not only is it extremely hot but it tastes great. If you can't handle the heat you can get half and half and still enjoy the great taste. The rest of the food is good too, but not the best. I love the green chile, and it keeps me coming back every week. Pros: Great tasting green chile Cons: Rest of food not as good as the green chile more

Hot does not mean REAL MEXICAN Food 7/19/2006

I am from Mexico, and have had the privelage of eating in many different states in Mexico. Colorful plates and well seasoned meals are true Mexican food. The idea that this place serves hot food or spicy does not make it good. Overly spicey and greasy food slopped together does not meat my standards. Santiago's is a reflection of chains food restaraunts thrown together quickly hiding grease and sauce behind overly spicey food. more

WoW!!!!!! The green Chile burnt my Face Off 3/4/2006

I have tried many of Denver's Mexican restaurants. This is by far the best, I mean THE BEST. You will not know what is good Mexican, till you try it. Everything on their menu is excellent and inexpensive. Just remember the hot green chile is HOT. Try half n half and save your taste buds.... Pros: Inexpensive, Made to order, Hot Chile Cons: no tables more
