I ordered an end cut last night. Most places are happy to get rid of their end cuts. I just happen to like them. When my Prime Rib arrived, it was clearly not an end cut, it was an overcooked regular slice of PR. NOT what I ordered. The waitress knew it wasn't an end cut and took it back to the kitchen. Then, management came out to tell me that it was indeed an end cut, and that it was trimmed. I told them that they were kidding themselves if they thought it was an end cut and told them that I had no time to argue and would take the over cooked piece of merd. My waitress was kind enough to take the steak away and actually brought me the end that she was going to have prepared. Here is where I realized the error of this ""steakhouse"". They don't have the PR made. They take a raw side of beef and cut it, THEN grill it to order. This is kind of a unique way to prepare PR. Normally, the PR is slow roasted and cut to order. This way of cooking it makes the End Cut the most flavorful piece of the side. If its simply thrown on a grill or pan, its just the fattiest part of the side. \r \r I will NEVER order PR at this place again, and would not allow anyone at my table to do so. The PR is a special cut and should be enjoyed accordingly. Its not a sirloin, filet or strip that can simply be heated and served. Santa Fe is in a great location and prices are reasonable, but this episode has really turned me off to them. I can't go back and won't let friends do so either. I've gone to Santa Fe three times--twice for dinner, once for after work drinks. The drinks are really good. I'm not a margarita fan but they make it taste very good. The food--eh, not as much. It doesn't taste like authentic Tex Mex or Mexican styled food to me at all. I ordered the taco salad and it's more of a party platter--the servings are extremely generous I must say. Not crazy about it though. My boyfriend had the burrito the first time and I didn't like it too much but the catfish he ordered the second time was very good. I've been to other Mexican restaurants and have had better. I would recommend for groups though since it's a very large space. Went there on a weekday. DONOT order the steak here. It is way too over or undercooked. They just cant seem to get it right whenever I go there. Maybe they just dont like me I dont know. But im never going back again. Cons: cant cook the steak right more

Even thought the place was decorated after what looks like a Burger King theme, the food is delicious. I've eaten there at least a dozen times, and I always leave wondering how come it took so long to return. Portions are adequate, quality of the food is good, drinks are huge, and service is always friendly. Not a romantic or business ambiance, due to the lighting and seating arrangements, but a fine meal at a very decent price. It does need a better desserts tho. I visted Santa Fe Steakhouse for the first time last week and I was immediately impressed with everything. I ordered a prime rib and it was cooked to perfection and very flavorful. The atmoshpere in the restaurant is very cheerful and the staff seemed eager to please the guests. I would highly recommend this restaurant. more

I went to Santa Fe with a group of about 13 people and thought it was ok. The nachos were very very good, but the onion bloom felt too greasy and the calamari was soggy. I ordered the filet mignon medium rare. I thought it was a little on the thin side, and way too rare. I noticed that they labeled several of the steaks we ordered wrong, and two steaks that were supposed to be the medium were way off. One was medium well and the other was well done. This is disappointing, since I am a huuuge steak fan. I'd still go back and give it another try...but I feel that for the $$ we paid it wasn't worth it. more

The food and the service at santafe is excelent. The servers do their best to accommodate the wishes of every customers that walk into its doors. I have seen some of these servers put up with a lot of difficult cilents and I was very impressed by the way they handled the situation. I am so happy to have followed some of my friends recommendations to go to Santa Fe Steakhouse. The steak was truly superb as were all the appetizers. The beer and wine menu is very extensive and definitely they know what they are selling. Thank you Santa Fe for being one of the few affordable and worthwhile restaurants in the neighborhood, you all have really outdone yourselves. This place is really great. They give you these mini pichers filled with soda, and lots of salad and a loaf of bread with each entree. The early dinner special is a great deal, and their double new york cheesecake is really tasty. Waitstaff is very nice and helpful. more
