Alright, let's be honest, Santa Fe Bar & Grill has good food and great drinks, but the reason we go is the HOTTIE and always happy STAFF!!!!! It starts at the door, where you're greeted by some eye candy (a tan, personal trainer type who said his name was Rogelio - he was our bartender and a hostess who looked right off the runway. Then you mosey through the crowd (who are all pretty cool looking, I guess to match the staff), and end up seated at a booth that seems to encourage people watching - its an open ended booth giving quite a view. In my opinion this is the best restaurant in Manhattan. There really is not one negative thing I can say about Santa Fe Bar & Grill . The food is spectacular, the service was great and they make the best mojitos and best flaming shots Ive ever had. Ive recommended this place to all my friends and will continue to do so. more

Great Margaritas & Service 8/22/2007

I've been going to Santa Fe for over a year for dinner and happy hour. I 've never been disappointed by the service or the food. Great selection of drinks. The bartenders are very nice and will suggest mixing certain flavors for a great frozen margarita (my favorite). I've yet to stop by on the weekend, since this has been an after work spot for me, but I am going to check it out very soon. The atmosphere is very relaxed and everyone from the staff is friendly. I think it's a great place for friends to get together after work. Pros: Good location, price, service Cons: None more

We had a great time at Santa Fe on East 79th Street, The food was great and the bar was filled with such nice people. We went back a 2nd time the same week and found that the food and service is right on every time. The steak was so tender and I like the fresh dish thay made at our table to start. After we went to the bar and watched the game and has some fun drinks. The bar has a heavy hand!!!! Good beer selection and we ordered some pick food at the bar the first time and it was also first rate and w/good prices. Get there between 4-8 and the drinks are half price. There is also a coupon we used on Google. If it's still there you can use it to get 4 drinks for 1/2 price anytime after 10PM. They were happy to take them. The owner is Sam and the second time we went in he remembered us and gave us a free tres-leche. I think that's how you spell it. The best I ever had. I'll go back again, a lot, it's a keeper. My friend said he saw the owner many years ago when he worked at Mr. Chows. This must be why the food is so good here. I ate a big and quality meal and had three drinks for less than $30.00!!!!!!!!! Pros: Food, Bar, Service, Nice People, Prices, Easy to get to Cons: None more

I can't get enough of this place specially in the summer with the opened doors. I love the huge assorted margaritas. Ambiance, location and food. I've been here a few times and just have the best time. They have the main dinning room . Great place to go after work for drinks. The margaritas are so good and strong that with 2 or 3 you'll be more than happy :) Exelent service. The food is tasty. Will definitely keep going back.. more

Terrible Service 4/13/2007

db78 Provided by Partner
This is by far the worst service that we've had in the city. First it took then 15 minutes for a waiter to come by. We had to flag down the manager and right off the bat he screwed up the drink order. Then when our waiter finally came by, he took our order and we never saw him again. Then we had to ask for silverware and they screwed that up too. They brought back chips and salsa instead of silverware! The bad service didn't end at the restaurant. We took a doggy bag home and the next day we discovered that they wrapped somebody else's food. It doesn't get any worse than that. The food was decent and maybe they had an off night, but based on the service, we're ever going back. Pros: Food Cons: Service more

Engaged at Santa Fe 2/16/2007

Me and my girlfriend Barbara had dinner at Santa Fe for Valentine's day. We walked into a packed house and had to wait about 5 minutes for a table even though we made reservations a week in advance. We were seated and had a 3 course meal for $55 a person. It was a little price, but with the live mariachi coming over and singing over at your table, it was well worth it. There was champagne included in the price and the owner gave us a bottle on the house. My girlfirend was feeling so good and was so happy that i finally got the nerve to propose to her. I gave her the ring while the mariachi was singing at the table. She was so overwhelmed that she could only accept. Thanks to Santa Fe, we will officially be married next month. Pros: Great food, Great Atmosphere Cons: a little pricy more

Best place on the Upper East Side 2/11/2007

My girlfriends love this place as much as I do. We always have a great time. The food and drinks are always good and the people we meet are what you want to meet on the Upper East Side. Not stuck up, very down to earth place for people who want to have a good time and relax. The prices are very good and the quality of the food is better than all the fluff you get in other places. I just wish they had more room at bar to watch TV. When a good game is on it's hard to see the TV at times. I'm only 5'3". Had the stuffed chicken breast with goat cheese. Too much for one person to eat. Since the drinks are $5.00 Iike to try different things. It's all good. I live a block away so we always walk over. See you at Santa Fe...... Pros: The food and people at the place are great and the drinks are very generous Cons: Can't see the TV :( more

Great place for superior food, friends and service 1/9/2007

The first thing about the place is the food. Everything is always so fresh. Any day of the week you can get a great piece of fish that always pleases. The chef goes out of his way to get the best greens to compliment each dish. The basics that are on the menu each day are FAR above that of other places in the city. Try their goat cheese stuffed chicken or sliced steak with fresh avocado that they make table side. The chicken soup with lime and corn is wonderful. The garlic mashed potatoes?? Oh well you get it. The bar is stocked with a great selection that you don't find everywhere. Special beers, great sangria and a selection of tequilas that taste more like fine wine than the stuff most places give you. The music at the bar is up tempo as is the crowd and it's filled with neighborhood regulars who know the value of a good meal in a warm friendly place that makes you feel at home. The people here are professionals I work in TV and see a lot of other people from my industry their also. The large screen TV at the bar is good for games and most people try and get a good spot as they eat in a relaxed manner. There is always someone to chat up at the bar as the area is filled with interesting single upper east side professionals who also like to end their day in a nice way after a hard day at the office. Sam is the owner and he makes sure that every dish coming out of the kitchen is right. This is a great place if you're hungry but you can also eat light and the chef will be happy to make dishes at a customer?s request. They aim to please. All in all this is great place and one you can go to over and over again and enjoy it just as much as you did the first time. Enjoy! Pros: Food, Service and Great People Cons: None more

Aint ya glad ya got a drem called Santa Fe 1/8/2007

I have lived on the Upper East Side for about six years, and on my way to the subway I always pass under Santa Fe's smart green awning. My husband and I went in last month for the first time, and we cant stop! The pomegranate Margerita makes my mouth water, and I have dreams about the steak fajitas! The menu is so well priced, which is nice in such an expensive neighborhood. The staff is so down to earth and sweet that it feels like your eating at a buddys house for dinner. They have this halibut dish which is so delicious, Im seriously considering of inviting myself into the kitchen to watch the chef work his magic! My only complaint is that my husband has a crush on the blonde bartender! Happy eating! Pros: awesome happy hour Cons: nothing more

Me and my friends decided to spend the night here and definetly didn't regret it. The service was great, they even made our order of guacamole in front of us so we knew we had the freshest stuff there was. The Margaritas were huge and definetly underpriced. I had a Mushroom Quesadilla that was definetly to my liking and then went onto the entree and ordered the Spanish Paella which was huge. My friends ordered an Enchilada and Fajita which was just as large. We definetly couldn't complain about the portions especially at such a great price. I definetly would drop by on a mon, tues or weds and get em at $10. Check it out sometime. Pros: Everything Cons: None :) more
