Apartments are old, but okay. Walls are really thin, you can hear you neighbors conversations. Staff is nice, but move out is aweful!! They always take your deposit and you are lucky if you do not get charge more for the upgrades that they want to put in to the apartment. There is no normal wear and tear, you are charged for everything and then some! We took great care of our apartment and it was very clean when we left. They took our $175 deposit and charged us $300 on top of that. The move out team is rude and say that they will do a walk through of your apartment, then they do not show up to the appointment. There are so many apartmens in the area, I would not recommend Santa Fe to others. more

Horrible, Deplorable - take your pick! 12/22/2010

Santa Fe apartments are reasonably priced, but that is all. The apartment was not clean in any way when we moved in, the cabinets were dusty/dirty, windows were filthy with dead spiders, flies in all the windows along with a very attractive film over the window; you literally cannot SEE OUTSIDE through the windows. Utilies: Our power bill in this apartment is ridiculously high for this 2 bedroom apartment? We didn?t run the AC that often in the summer, and we still ended up with power bills over 150 dollars a month. I attribute this to OLD, inefficient equipment and very poor insulation. Maintenance: Repetitive calls to maintenance have been made for many, many different problems within the apartment. Maintenance has come out about 5 times, ?fixed? (covered up) the problems and not a single one of the issues we?ve had and have called about has been actually ?fixed?. This includes the front-door step, it simply falls off. They?ve ?fixed? this twice, and after it broke the 3rd time, we left it out front of the door, sitting on the ground where we initially found it. We?ve made at LEAST 6 phone calls to management to have maintenance come out and resolve the horrible black-mold problem we?ve had in the bathroom. After about the 5th call, maintenance came out ? ?cleaned? and painted-over the mold, and without exaggeration it was back within 2 weeks. It is still there now. The master bedroom?s Fan & Light fixture keeps burning new bulbs out? I?ve replaced them 3 times, all of them ? they continue to burn out, a couple of which have actually fried the bulb?s metal INTO the socket, with the glass just falling out after a little ?pop?. We have decided to NOT use the lighting in the bedroom as replacing bulbs incessantly is ridiculous. The hallway light burned out, and my attempt to replace the bulb failed as it?s ingeniously been painted over, so I cannot unscrew the fixture without destroying the paint. The sliding door?s lock doesn?t function. You can push the door, and it will give a little resistance but then slide open. Appliances: The appliances in our apartment must be from the 70?s based on color and performance. We?ve literally found it impossible to cook anything in the oven as the temp is nowhere near correct, it simply burns everything. (We?ve tried adjusting the temp, it just doesn?t work). I?m unsure about the dishwasher?s abilities to actually clean dishes without ruining them; it?s turned a complete set of our dishes into a very ugly pasty color, probably from temperature. The BEDROOM WALL in our daughter?s room is literally FALLING OFF, you can look at the separation, pull on it ? and you could pull the entire drywall off the wall. It?s up now with things pushed up onto it to make sure it won?t ?disappear? and need ?maintenance?. Maintenance has been called to repair the leaking toilet that will wake us up in the middle of the night several times when it?s filling up the tank; they ?fixed it? once and it still leaks now. We?ve called them to have someone come and spray the apartment due to an un-godly amount of spiders, they came and sprayed 3 times ? but before-hand tried to explain to us that ?since we live on ground floor, this should be expected?. (I understand bugs and spiders do come along, but not normally in dozens) I?ve repaired (actually fixed that is) more things in this apartment than Santa Fe maintenance has. I would highly, highly HIGHLY -- NOT recommend ANYONE move in here, EVER. Management: We?ve had lease disagreements, and management has complete disrespect for their tenants and refuses to listen. I was forced to get a lawyer to work with them instead. Not only are the apartments shabby and literally falling apart, the management is an ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE to work with, or even try to talk to. more
